A Modern Eclectic Rooftop Wedding Styled Shoot At National Gallery Singapore

In Singapore, where it might be difficult to find wide-open spaces for outdoor weddings, why not opt for a rooftop celebration instead?

This styled shoot kept things romantic, mysterious and modern, with a monochromatic colour palette paired with metallic accents – all while also capturing the beauty of Marina Bay Sands. The gold and brass pieces looked great alongside the edgy neon elements, and while the décor was detailed, it wasn’t overwhelming. Well done, MerryLove Weddings and Wedrock Weddings! And many thanks to Bottega53 for capturing these photos.

The Everything-Green Styled Shoot

Photo by Fire, Wood & Earth Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

In case you haven’t noticed, the greenery theme has taken 2017 by storm. This affordable, totally achievable look is easily tweaked, whether for a romantic feel, tropical flavour, or chic look. It is eco friendly and timeless, which makes us wonder why we didn’t think of it sooner! The secret to pulling off this theme is to use a good variation of greens for texture, exactly like how these guys did it for this styled shoot.

Irene Darmawan of Pepper Suite: “We chose Noah’s Barn Coffeenery in Bandung for its potential in hosting small and intimate events, as well as its good food. This mini project was birthed during a casual discussion with Andre and Agnes from FIRE, WOOD & EARTH. We didn’t have big expectations for it; we were just so happy to be able to work with the many vendors involved, and could not have asked for a better result.

“The dress was costumed by Verena Mia, and is a cropped lace top style with two different skirts so that brides can change their look for the reception. The flowy design is perfect for an outdoor or country themed wedding. Besides the bridal look, we also had a flower girl look that was costumed by Shierly Joediarta – a simple white dress that is designed to be airy and comfortable. Our little model didn’t want to take off the dress after the shoot because she loved wearing it so much!

Debora Natalia was the stylist behind the natural makeup and hairdo, where she used leaves instead of flowers. You may want to steal this look for a Roman or Grecian inspired theme. The hand bouquet and flower crown were provided courtesy of Irene from Pretty Wildflowers, and featured eucalyptus, white scabiosa and lillium flowers. The aim was to make the bouquet look like a bunch of flowers you had just picked from the garden.

“This styled shoot incorporated several different décor ideas. The combination of hanging leaves, gold accents, and details is great for a wedding ceremony setup, while the wooden table paired with cross-backed wooden chairs and decorated with leaves and small white flowers is understated and perfect for a bridal table setup. As for the photobooth, or some might call it a photo corner, we used gold frames and added leaves for a natural touch.

“Finally, to complete the look, we approached Putri from Prestige Details to come up with a stationery design that would go with this theme. We were really pleased with the results – the fonts, design of the invitations, menu and place cards, as well as the sample favours were all in line with our theme for this photoshoot.”

Celebrating 10 Years: Rustic Chic Anniversary Celebration

Photo by Stories by Integricity. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Instead of the usual dinner-for-two wedding anniversary celebration, this special couple decided to mark 10 years of fulfilling marriage in a different way – a party with all the important people in their lives to commemorate this significant milestone. It was the perfect opportunity for them to look back on all that they have been blessed with, including a new home for which they had a house blessing at the same time! Surely this was a very special time of reflection and thanksgiving.

The couple’s love for travel and the great outdoors was well represented with vintage suitcases and a teepee, as well as pretty greens and succulents to decorate the scrumptious looking dessert table. Framed moments from their 10-year journey were proudly displayed alongside, and to top the festivities off, all the kids got to jump into the pool afterwards! Many thanks to the lovely Grace of Stories by Integricity for sharing her photos with us.

Vintage Rustic Florals With A Touch Of Gold At Tanarimba, Janda Baik

Photo by Peter Herman Photography. Styling by The PeakXperience. www.theweddingnotebook.com

There is an undeniable warmth that comes with wooden décor elements. Pair them with an abundance of flowers and lush greens in a venue with a grassy knoll and high wooden ceilings, and it all made for the perfect rustic barn theme. Special touches included the wagon wheel centerpiece, stacks of hay and wooden pallets, and embellishments in the form of dried leaves, twine and vine leaves.

Complementing the rustic theme were the breathtaking floral choices (even the table names were flower names and their meanings), an ice cream bar and a vintage Volkswagen van. Tying together all of these decorative elements were pops of gold, from the gilded chairs and cutlery to the table centerpieces and the decorative frame. Thanks to Peter Herman Photography for capturing the intricately beautiful details of this wedding setup by The Peak Xperience!

A Contemporary Marbled Theme at Four Points by Sheraton Puchong

Wedding at Four Points by Sheraton. Styling by The Wedding Notebook magazine. Photo by Inlight Photos. www.theweddingnotebook.com

As compatible as the union between the bride and groom is the juxtaposition of marble and wood, or the contrasting shades of blush pink and grey. Keeping things classic yet contemporary and minimalist, this theme made clever use of the marbled textures and wooden elements to embellish the classic wedding white, with a subtle finishing touch of gold added.

Rustic Floral Party At UoVo Cafe

Munkeat Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Gold and blush pink might currently be the trendiest colour combination, but it is the deep hues of wild flowers with a mix of greens such as eucalyptus, lush ferns and leaves that add a rustic touch to any party. Arranged here on dark-stained wooden drawers and shelves for a pretty dessert table, it was the perfect setting for this rustic engagement party with just a handful of family and friends. Many thanks to MunKeat Photography for capturing this beautiful styling by Wishing Tree, who transformed the already beautiful UoVo Café into a gorgeous intimate space.

Beauty In Simplicity At Genji Japanese Restaurant, Hilton Petaling Jaya

Wedding at Genji Hilton Petaling Jaya. Event by The Wedding Notebook. Photo by Inlight Photos. www.theweddingnotebook.com

When it comes to effortless aesthetics and clean and minimalist lines, the Zakka style never disappoints. MUJI-inspired and reminiscent of Scandinavian elements, the magic of this style comes in subtle yet natural forms mostly derived from fabrics that create different textures, prints and hues.

For our last event at Genji Japanese Restaurant in Hilton Petaling Jaya, we wanted to inject Japanese design and elements into the décor. Simplicity is a complex art – minimal yet requiring much thought.

Many thanks to Joshua of Inlight Photos for capturing the event that The Wedding Notebook creative team had much fun putting together.

What’s better than a party filled with vibrant colours, whimsical elements and a tropical theme? A tropical wedding party, of course! From the gilded pineapples to the poolside elements and amenities, a pool party right in the heart of the city would be the perfect setting for you to celebrate with loved ones. Throw in refreshing cocktails, bottled beers and delicious bites, and you’ll have a party to remember.

TWN had the honour of having the couple Nick Davis and Eunice Lew, both talented singers in their own right, with us for this shoot. They are witty and fun, and we had loads of laughs, especially while working on the GIF motions. Also, do check out the music video for their single ‘With You’, which he wrote for their wedding proposal in Seoul.

Framed in these perfect shots by Funkydali, the concept and styling of this fun-filled styled shoot was by The Wedding Notebook, and took place on the rooftop of Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral with its breathtaking views.

Never underestimate the splendour and magic of natural light – it is the one thing that immediately brings an entire look together, softening any edges and causing everything to glow in dreaminess and warmth.

Complemented by the pastel hues of blue and pink and adding to the demure, romantic mood, this bride’s look was kept natural with hints of gold. Combined with the other elements such as the delicate illustrations and the floral arch, everything came together just perfectly. The beauty of Tuscany never ceases to captivate our hearts. The tranquil countryside, the drama of the coast and the magnificent architecture in the towns evoke romance in every manner possible.

Peak Xperience took the opportunity to style this at the beautiful Relais La Suvera during a recent trip to the region, with the help of Monica Balli Events who is based in Tuscany. Carefully captured by Ryan Joseph Photography, don’t forget to check out the boudoir session as well.

A Gatsby-Inspired White And Gold DIY Wedding

There’s something magical about the glamour of the 1920s Gatsby era, and we love how this bride took things into her own hands and DIY-ed her own wedding! With a sleek colour palette of white and gold, additional décor textures were added with dramatic white feathers, drop pearl props and wooden elements. What resulted was a stunning display of glitter and gold, matching the bright smiles of everyone in attendance and the sparkle of love in the newlyweds’ eyes. Of late, many young couples have been embracing their traditions and cultures, giving us the opportunity to feast our eyes on variations of the Oriental theme. Today we want to share something different. An Oriental theme doesn’t necessarily mean all red. Neither does it mean that you have to forgo trendy wedding ideas like calligraphy and clean fonts, modern stationery and gold elements.

The intimate lunch experience we recently had at Tao Chinese Cuisine at Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur gave us a good idea of how you can merge traditions with modern elements to create something contemporary. The Wedding Notebook, who firmly believes in pushing wedding boundaries, once again collaborated with Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur’s official florist, Spring Cottage, to achieve that modern mixed bunch that went so well with the table setup. Thanks, Deviews Photography, for beautifully capturing all this.

The great thing about Tao Chinese Cuisine is that it’s extremely suitable for small, intimate weddings. With very minimal décor, anyone can create a beautiful setting. The dramatic lights above the room are great for creating the right mood. It’s time to do away with the stage for a cosier feel, and how about a six pax VIP table for both sets of parents or even the bridal party?
