A Modern Geometric Themed Wedding in Phuket, Thailand

We love the simplicity of this wedding pulled together by Wedding Boutique Phuket, from the gilded geometric elements and the lush leaves and florals to the pops of white and glamourous touches. The best thing about this soiree was that it was very true to the bride and groom. At the end of the day, it resonated with who they were as a couple, and they managed to celebrate the best moments of their big day with their loved ones: with speeches, dancing and so much love. Many thanks to Ameirfikri Photography for capturing all the joy, laughter and delight.

Elegant and Intimate Traditional Indian Wedding at Glasshouse at Seputeh and the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Peter Herman Photography. Styling Pathway Events. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We just love it when couples know how to have a fabulous time. This couple living in the United Kingdom sought an intimate wedding celebration in Kuala Lumpur. They had their traditional ceremony at Glasshouse at Seputeh, the perfect venue for an indoor garden wedding, followed by a reception at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, which suitably catered to the blissful couple’s 200 guests from around the world. Thank you for this brilliant album, Peter Herman Photography!

The beautiful bride reminds us of the reasons we love flowers. Her penchant for choosing soft, pastel-toned flowers meant the wedding ballroom was adorned with a remarkable display of blooms. Working with their wedding planner to write their love story into the décor, they created a fun, vibrant pink “London photobooth” for guests, with “London Calling” as their tagline. Similarly, their vision of having a night of dancing with their friends came to fruition through their customised dance floor, complemented by pink cocktails no less. Talk about a night to remember!

Modern Oriental Bridal Portraits at Alila Yangshuo, China

Guilin is a popular travel destination, but who would have thought it would be such a great bridal portrait destination too? We were completely floored by the beauty in these photos. A mark of an amazing photographer is the ability to play with light, dimensions and framing, and translate that into their photos. Here, the use of architectural breezeblocks and the various textures of nature helped to create the perfect backdrop. Louis Gan Photography is indeed one of the best out there – colour us impressed!

If you’ve ever worried about the weather for an outdoor wedding, imagine this: an hour before this couple’s ceremony, it started to pour with rain! Thankfully it stopped just in time – yay for happy endings! – and everything went off without a hitch. Even better, the cloudy day set just the right mood for the rustic and dreamy wedding theme, made complete with copious amounts of foliage and floral elements. Many thanks to Twins Photography for capturing the beautiful details.

A Modern and Chic Multicoloured Peranakan Wedding at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Ben Yew Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We’re so used to associating white and clean neutrals with weddings that it’s refreshing to witness a wedding filled to the brim with colour, flavour and laughter! The whitewashed walls of The Majestic Hotel served as the perfect backdrop for this wedding, with its gorgeous pops of colour and intricate patterns and designs. How about that Peranakan shophouse backdrop for a photobooth? We were gobsmacked by the attention to detail. Many thanks to Ben Yew Photography for capturing these absolutely breathtaking photos.

A Nostalgia-inspired Modern Wedding+Whimsical Vibrant Garden Ceremony in Singapore

Bloc Memoire Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Weddings tend to signify the turning point of going from your past into your future, and for these newlyweds, that came in the form of their wedding celebrations. Opting for traditional and nostalgia first, with a church solemnisation and tea ceremony, they let loose with their friends on the second day, surrounded by nature and with much dancing beneath the night sky. Many thanks to Bloc Memoire Photography for capturing this gorgeous wedding.

Desiree: “Being married by Msgr Ambrose, who had journeyed with us for a year and knew us so well, was so special. Other memorable moments included the very special vow ceremony led by my childhood friend, my brother’s impromptu decision to sing us a song while we danced, Daniel’s surprise performance that moved me to tears, and the totally outrageous fertility dance performed by my friends that also moved me to tears, but from laughing too hard! The whole weekend was truly more amazing than we ever imagined it could be. When I think back on the weekend, what I remember most vividly is an overwhelming sense of gratitude to be surrounded by all our loved ones as we celebrated our relationship and commitment to each other.

“We decided to celebrate our wedding across two days so that we could enjoy a more intimate and meaningful experience with each other and our loved ones. The first day was when we honoured our chosen traditions with our families, beginning with a solemnisation in church followed by a tea ceremony and lunch at Empress. The nostalgic theme unfolded naturally as we allowed our decisions on food, décor and favours to be guided by our memories of growing up. We chose Empress because we were both raised in huge Chinese families that always gathered around delicious home cooked feasts, and we wanted a venue that had really good Chinese cuisine. We also loved the classy yet relaxed setting by the river with lots of natural light, not to mention the incredible hospitality we experienced from the Empress team. We loved it so much that it’s now become our go-to venue for family celebrations!

Pretty in Pink Bridal Portraits Taken in Jaipur, India

Jessielyee Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Our hearts sang as we took in the vivid colours and diversity captured in these beautiful bridal portraits that were shot in Jaipur, India. What an exciting and stunning backdrop to complement this handsome couple’s spontaneity!

Having met and fallen in love while at work, this couple decided to tie the knot in India, and visit several cities afterwards as part of a short trip. Meeting their photographer in the mesmerising Pink City of Jaipur for some post-wedding shots was an easy decision to make. The city’s attractions served up a brilliant display of architecture and culture, and the couple’s carefully planned outfits ensured a great visual outcome.

“The two-day photography session went really well, as the couple was comfortable enough to be affectionate in front of the camera,” shared Jessielyee. Photography. We love their exuberance, and we just can’t get enough of these photos!

A Traditional Oriental Chic Wedding in Singapore

Many couples have old school themes for their wedding but overlook tradition. Not these newlyweds. They embraced their roots, with its detailed traditions, with open arms, and managed to make it their own in all of its trendy glory. With pops of red against whitewashed walls, and elements rich with lace and pearl textures, you’d have a hard time figuring out if this really took place a hundred years ago. Many thanks to Jasmine. A of MunKeat Studio for capturing this lovely set!
