A Chic DIY Burgundy Wedding at Neo Tamarind

When you have a deep theme colour like burgundy, it’s important that everything else pops. These newlyweds opted for various textures in white, including ropes, fabric and floral details. The results were chic yet glamorous, and the wooden accents of the venue, together with all the other decorative elements such as the signboards, really added to the warmth of the occasion. What a beautifully intimate affair, where the focus was solely on the union of the newlyweds. MunKeat Photography captured the essence of the day perfectly.

An Elegant Woodland Garden Party in NSW, Australia

Oh, these newlyweds really knocked it out of the park with their dreamy woodland romance. From the ivy and green décor to the sparklers, this was all kinds of a midsummer’s night dream. Against the clean and simple palette of green, white and pale pink, the only things that really shone were the bride’s bright smile and everyone’s uncontainable joy. The dancing, happy toasts and sweet vows were the main event of the day. Many thanks to Tealily Photography for capturing these amazing shots!

Pretty in White: Wedding Portraits in Klang

Photo by TK Teo Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

A new chapter as man and wife is approaching, and there is much to be done in preparation for the grand occasion. Clad in white and statement Doc Martens, this couple took the morning off from their busy schedules for a relaxing day out in the fields. Such portrait albums don’t necessarily need to follow a theme or narrative; the images themselves speak of the couple’s affection for each other, their youth and delight now preserved in these photographs for the generations to come. Many thanks to TK Teo for these!

A Traditional Yet Glamorous Blush Pink Wedding in Sarawak

It’s not often that we get to feature an Iban wedding, and this one was beautifully put together, from the cosy and intimate celebrations with close friends and family to the open reception that included everyone in Kapit. What’s even more amazing is that a clear theme was maintained throughout – the blush, grey and light gold palette tastefully brought together with textures such as drapery, florals and other traditional elements. Many thanks to Andy Phe of Bespoke Photographics and Melia Linggi of the Tun Jugah Foundation for all the important information on Iban weddings and customs.

Amanda: “The theme for our church blessing was ‘Rustic Garden’. Our altar stage décor had two-toned drapery, and we used fresh flowers in pink, white, pale yellow and green. Jonathan wore a navy blue suit paired with a pineapple-printed dark blue bow tie to add a bit of fun, and I wore a vintage off-shoulder trumpet dress in Chantilly lace from ThatWhiteDress and a Swarovski-dotted veil from Designer Bridal Room rimmed with a bunch of fresh baby’s breath in my hair.

A Surprise Romantic Proposal in Paris

Photo by Kiss Me in Paris. www.theweddingnotebook.com

After six years together, you’d think these high school sweethearts might find it difficult to keep a secret from each other. Much to Dasha’s great surprise, Shil bought a ring, planned a holiday, and even got their loved ones to Paris so he could pop the question! From the costume changes – that yellow dress and blue suit channelling serious ‘Beauty and the Beast’ vibes – to the sights of romantic Paris, these bridal portraits are an absolute dream. Many thanks to Cengiz Ozelsel from Kiss in Paris Photography for these postcard-perfect shots!

Dasha: “Shil popped the question during sunrise at the Trocadéro in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower as the backdrop. Shortly after, 15 of our friends and family members surprised me! He’d even hired a photographer for the surprise proposal and for an engagement photoshoot, which he initially sold as an anniversary gift.”

Destination Pre-Wedding Shoot in Eclectic Tokyo

It’s pretty normal to feel overwhelmed when your list of wedding things to do gets longer by the day. Why not take some time off with your spouse-to-be, committing only to the moment and the love you share? Rekindle your passion for each other as you explore the charm and flavours of an eclectic city like Tokyo. Like this couple discovered, it will be nothing short of the needed getaway that will also help in the preservation of good memories.

Taking to the market, streets and buildings, the lovebirds expressed their love of art and wonder against the fast paced and raw backdrop that Tokyo affords. Destination mood albums are good fun and rewarding – provided you are able to place your trust in your photographer of course. Thanks for these brilliant pictures, Kai Picture!

Enchanting Waterfall and Black Sand Beach Engagement Shoot in Bali

Photo by Fire Wood and Earth. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We were absolutely enthralled by these waterfall captures that were taken at Tukad Cepung in Bali, Indonesia, but that was just half of it. The couple also had some photos taken at a secluded black sand beach, Nyanyi Beach, as the sun set on the horizon. Many thanks to Fire, Wood & Earth for these marvellous shots!

“The waterfall truly looked like a curtain, a sparkly cascade with the sunlight on it. We even managed to get some dramatic lighting with the sunlight piercing through the waterfall into the cave, creating the most mesmerising photos for the couple,” said the photographer from Fire, Wood & Earth. “As for the black sand beach, it was serene, soft and beautiful. At dusk, when the sky darkened, the soft light fell upon the surface of the sea and sand, giving it all a poetic vibe.”

A Casual Garden Party Wedding at Glasshouse at Seputeh

Photo by Daren Chong Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

There’s no rule saying that your wedding party has to be a sit-down multi-course meal. We love how this couple opted for fairy lights and disco balls, a huge buffet spread, and free-flow alcohol to celebrate their union!

Keeping it simple yet classic with green and white floral elements – mostly baby’s breath, ferns and big leafy greens – other decorative highlights included white steel metallic boxes, a fun tepee, and everyone’s bright happy smiles! It was a real celebration that was beautifully captured by Daren Chong Photography.

Elegant Wedding With a Touch of Penang Nyonya Charm at Seven Terraces, Georgetown

Photo by Yung Yaw and Manoj of Munkeat Studio. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We adore the old fashioned Penang Nyonya elements in this exquisite wedding, which took place at Seven Terraces in Georgetown, Penang. The cosy venue featured charming heritage tones as the couple complemented the existing décor with modern touches – a sassy black lace ‘qipao’ to match the groom’s necktie of black and mahogany stripes, as well as a pale pink bouquet. Thanks for these superb shots, Yung Yaw and Manoj of Mun Keat Studio!
