Glam Meets Grunge In This Gritty, Steamy Bridal Photoshoot

Gold sequins and black leather dance in a dingy corridor lit by green tinged fluorescent tubes. She is a gilded diva, he is a bad boy and rocker, and right here, in the grittiness of it all, they have eyes only for each other. Stylistically unconventional, this is a couple who is not afraid to live life with passion and verve. A huge shout out to 50nfifty Productions for sending along such a unique set of photos!

Breezy, Laid-Back Wedding In Cove 55, Sarawak

Henry Golding and Liv Lo wedding. Photo by Andy Phe Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Classy meets casual in this radiant, tender wedding held in Santubong, Sarawak, amidst a setting of lush greens and white roses. Henry was sharp and dapper in a lapis blue suit while Liv glowed and sparkled in a stunning barebacked gown. The atmosphere was soft and relaxed yet splashed in glamour and style.

As the rose-covered letters of their initials reflected off the water of a nearby pool, delicate flowers and fairy lights danced in the night in a wash of heliotrope. The stately colonial architecture of Cove 55 was also the perfect enchanting backdrop to the Iban Ngajat dancers and this beautiful couple’s whimsically Malaysian alfresco reception. Hats off to Andy Phe Photography for a job very well done!

A Mint Green And Peach, Vintage DIY Church Wedding

Photo by Arch and Vow Studio. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We’re loving this wedding colour palette of mint green and peach with hints of blush pink and gold, all brought together beautifully with twine, wooden décor elements and simple vintage pieces. It’s hard to believe that most of the décor was DIY, and it’s clear that the bride and groom’s families make the perfect team! We especially love the added touch of the vintage gold Fiat 500 as the bride and groom’s wedding car. Many thanks to Arch & Vow Studio for capturing all the lovely moments of this special day.

A Union Of Two Cultures At Le Meridian Kuala Lumpur

For Matthew and Yasuho, tying the knot after being together for almost a decade was a momentous and meaningful celebration indeed. The solemnisation ceremony was a classic affair, held in Le Meridian’s rooftop glasshouse. The abundance of natural light made the colour palette of navy and white really stand out in the photos and video.

To highlight the union of their different cultures, Yasuho wore a ‘furisode’, a type of kimono only single women are allowed to wear, complete with a stunning floral headpiece of white hydrangeas and baby’s breath. We absolutely love the whole look! For her walk in, she chose to wear a ‘cheongsam’ to represent her husband’s culture and heritage, as well as to symbolise her merging into his family. She also hand-folded hundreds of ‘orizuru’ (paper cranes) for each guest as part of the wedding favours!

Keeping things elegant yet modern, this beautiful colour palette of white, blue and gold, complete with touches of sparkle and lace, was a sight to behold. With the ballroom’s high ceilings, long tables flanking the runway, and white cloth draped along the walls, the reception, which was awash in blue light, had a majestic yet modern vibe. Final finishing touches were added in the form of gilded Tiffani chairs, breathtakingly elaborate floral table centrepieces, and sparkly lace tablecloths. And of course not forgetting that amazing floral photo wall, too!

Many thanks to WeFreeze Photography for capturing the glamour and elegance of the night, as well as the remarkable details and stylings by the bride’s very own Pathway Events & Design. Do check out this couple’s traditional gatecrashing ceremony too – there’s so much to like about it!

An Old School Chinese Gate-Crashing Ceremony

Most Chinese wedding customs have been modernised but some traditions still remain, such as the tea ceremony and the gate-crashing ceremony, where the groom picks up the bride. These are, without a doubt, the most sentimental and joyous aspects of the whole day. The gatecrashing ceremony fills the house with a lot of laughter as both sides of the family get acquainted with one another through ice-breaker games; while the tea ceremony is a traditional and sweet way of introducing the new family member to each side.

Here, we love how Rachel was resplendent in her ‘kua’ and how charming Chris looked in his traditional Chinese outfit, plus that beautiful red flower wall. Many thanks to WeFreeze Photography for capturing the joy of such a wonderful day, perfectly complemented by the beautiful stylings of Rachel’s own team, Pathway Events & Design. Do check out their elegant blue and gold wedding reception too; we promise you it is Pinterest-worthy.

The Unbeaten Path Around Mount Fuji

Bridal portraits around Mount Fuji. Photo by Synchronal Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

From donning traditional Japanese garb to explore the urban parts of Japan to wearing sweet, romantic outfits for the more rural and nature based aspects of their bridal portraits, we love how these shots captured the bride and groom’s undeniable affection for each other.

Even the majestic Mount Fuji couldn’t dwarf the newlyweds’ love for each other, and it was beautiful to see them explore the quiet Japanese forests, Lake Kawaguchiko, and sakura gardens. Many thanks to Synchronal Photography for these photos!

A Fairytale Church Destination Wedding In Italy

VRP Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Love can truly happen anywhere! This is an East meets West love story: the bride is Malaysian, the groom is Italian, and they were brought together in Australia. Tying the knot in the groom’s hometown of Caserta, the newlyweds exchanged their vows at the Cathedral of San Michele Arcangelo.

Located on top of a hill overlooking the town, surrounded by lush greenery and covered in a dreamy fog, the beautiful thousand-year-old church was right out of a fairytale. The church’s classical architecture was also gorgeously complemented by the pink tones of the bridesmaids’ dresses and refreshing white flowers and décor. Many thanks to VRP Photography for this captivating set of photos!

A Gilded Rustic DIY Wedding At Luther Centre Church, Petaling Jaya

Nick Lim Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

The simple gold and white colour palette gave the bride and groom plenty of room to play with textures and other decorative elements. This included burlap, tassels, shiny satin and wooden accents, interspersed with baby’s breath and lush green florals – all together, it was a cosy, simple yet elegant affair.

The couple left no stone unturned when it came to keeping their guests entertained – a space to take beautiful photos, an ice cream cart (that proved to be a real hit!) and an ingenious guestbook alternative: writing their well wishes on wooden blocks! We especially love the subtle texture of the pearly lace on the bride’s gown, which perfectly complemented her bridesmaids’ asymmetrical white and gold satin dresses. Many thanks to Nick Lim Photography for capturing the sweet details and magical moments of this wedding!
