Simple Yet Stylish Bridal Portraits at Dempsey Hill Singapore

Photo by Kompactfaen Photography and Cinematography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We love how this couple’s private celebration of new jobs and careers was sweetened by a surprise marriage proposal – and she said yes! The cameras rolled quietly in the background, capturing the special moment and all the joy that followed. The couple’s matching outfits on the day said plenty about the way they instinctively complement each other.

“They’ve always wanted to keep their proposal private and intimate, and the groom wanted to keep this as low-key as possible,” Chong Kuo Loon of Kompactfaen Photography + Cinematography said. “We did a little shoot around Dempsey Hill to showcase the dynamics of their quiet yet edgy relationship. They are a little quirky, a little eccentric yet unique – it was all marvelous to capture.” Many thanks to Kompactfaen Photography + Cinematography for these fantastic shots!

Dreamy and Passionate Bridal Portraits at the Sand Dunes in Malacca

Photo by Jasmine A of Munkeat Studio. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Sometimes bridal portraits can appear to be more than just a snapshot of two newlyweds-to-be; they can look as dreamy and professional as an editorial shoot. For these newlyweds, it didn’t matter what the backdrop was – from the sand dunes of Pantai Klebang, Malacca, to the roads of KL and in a cosy coffee shop, it was clear all they had were eyes for each other, and that’s what truly mattered. Many thanks to Jasmine. A Photography for capturing these stolen moments – it’s amazing to freeze a moment of intimacy that perfectly encapsulates this couple’s engagement.

Intimate Bridal Portraits on Film Photography Amid Lush Greenery in Adelaide

Photo by Ben Yew Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

The bride emanated attitude in a long sleeved bridal dress and black oxfords, while the groom was swanky in his blue grey suit – together, this couple took their simple engagement photography session to some of the classic spots around Adelaide, South Australia, to create the memories of a lifetime. With two wedding receptions to prepare for – one in Australia and one in China – the blissfully in love pair took the opportunity to enjoy some downtime, snuggling close for the camera. Thanks for these beautiful pictures, Ben Yew Photography!

“The couple, who is based in Adelaide, invited me to capture their wedding day, as well as the day before,” recalled Ben. “The bride loves film photography, and the colour, style and simplicity of it complemented her dress, theme and location so well. Her selection of black shoes and white dress was stunning!”

Pretty in White: Wedding Portraits in Klang

Photo by TK Teo Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

A new chapter as man and wife is approaching, and there is much to be done in preparation for the grand occasion. Clad in white and statement Doc Martens, this couple took the morning off from their busy schedules for a relaxing day out in the fields. Such portrait albums don’t necessarily need to follow a theme or narrative; the images themselves speak of the couple’s affection for each other, their youth and delight now preserved in these photographs for the generations to come. Many thanks to TK Teo for these!

It is absolutely worth your time to have your romance with your spouse-to-be captured in a lovely wedding portrait album that you can enjoy for decades to come. We love the radiant smiles of this couple at their intimate engagement session, and their cute little antique setup on the lawn, amidst the lovely colours of Fall, is just beautiful. Our advice? Keep your concept and colour palette simple, have a good time, and let your photographer do the rest. We loved this, Evan Wang of Wedding Gallery Studio, thanks for sharing!

Fun and Flirty Wedding Portraits in Two Completely Different Locations

Photo by Trees On The Moon. www.theweddingnotebook.com

In the hectic months leading up to a wedding, a fun and flirty wedding portrait shoot often becomes an opportunity for the couple to relax and let loose a little. For Cheryl and Chrysler, they knew exactly how they wanted to be styled and where they wanted to go – Bean Brothers in Kota Damansara, a unique venue with an industrial flavour, and University Putra Malaysia (UPM).

“We never tire of shooting in UPM, and also suggested a nearby forest reserve for the second look,” says wedding photographer Trees on The Moon. “We love this set as we meant to capture something that was meaningful and believable – nothing too posed, just fun all the way.”

Shades of Fall: Engagement Session at the Blue Mountains

Photo by Wedding Gallery Studio. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We can’t get enough of nature’s beautiful, rich tones, as found in this couple’s engagement session at the picturesque Dennarque Estate and Yengo Gardens, Australia. We appreciate how they kept their décor minimal, opting for just a few antique lamps so as to complement the natural surroundings of these privately owned estates in the Blue Mountains.

“The gardens were exclusively hired for this couple so that they would feel very relaxed and comfortable walking among an endless sea of flowers and trees, just as though they were on a date,” says Evan Wang of Wedding Gallery Studio.

Simple, Spontaneous And Stunning Beach Engagement Shoot In Mariveles, Bataan

Photo by Ram Marcelo Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

While it’s fair to say that engagement shoots are quite subjective – some are eager to do it, others aren’t – this Filipino couple’s sheer joy at their experience (and each other) is clear to see. Even though they were but two subjects on a sandy plane, they managed to infuse so much life into this simplistic shoot at sunny Sisiman Lighthouse in Mariveles, Bataan.

Even better, they managed to keep the cost low too. “While we’ve seen other couples spend a lot on their engagement shoots, we didn’t even have a stylist or any props. When we created our moodboard, we just wanted something light and not too dramatic, as we don’t like the overly ‘rehearsed’ look,” shared the bride.

In doing this, she also hopes to inspire others to not stress over the details of their engagement shoot. “You can get a laidback yet awesome output if you would just let your love speak for you. If I had to redo my shoot, I still wouldn’t prepare for it. It was the spontaneity that made it unique!” Thanks for these brilliant captures, Ram Marcelo Photography.

Urban Landscape Bridal Portraits in Singapore

Hosting their wedding in Singapore proved to be convenient and memorable for this lovely couple from Taiwan, as they found everything they needed – a bustling and picturesque city backdrop for their pre-wedding shoot, and the exquisite Chef’s Table at Capella Hotel Singapore as a wedding venue.

Singapore has, in the last decade or so, gained traction as a fantastic wedding hotspot because it has much to offer and various venues located reasonably close by. While Asian cities in general offer plenty of colour and flavor, we must admit we do love Singapore for its cleanliness and safety all year round. That means one less worry when hosting a destination wedding! Thanks for these great photos, Kelly Fan of Studiokel Photography.

Reenacting Memories For Meaningful Engagement Portraits

When it comes to engagement portraits, keeping things simple and clean helps couples to focus on what’s important – their most treasured memories captured in stills that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

“We made it a point to agree on the bigger goal(s) beyond typical and superfluous wants and needs. In hindsight, what has always gotten us back on track in times of conflict or doubt is our desire to honour God and our parents,” said this couple. “We’ve always asked ourselves: does this glorify God and honour our parents? The answer to that question always helps us to decide on the next best step to take.”

To receate the memories that matter to them, the couple planned a day of photoshoots in Jason’s Food Hall, a Starbucks and a local park. The first venue was where Dansen first held Evelyn’s hand as they shopped for risotto ingredients – never mind that his plan to cook for her never materialised!

Starbucks was where they had deep conversations about their relationship, values and spiritual faith, and finally, as their relationship came to a crossroads, he proposed to her at a park – and she said yes! Many thanks to Cheryl Wong of MOCO: Capturing Life Moments for these meaningful shots.
