We Fell In Love Despite Our Differences

If you love what you are doing, then there is no reason to not include it in your bridal portraits. We totally love this set of photos where the couple injects some fun and laughter into their seemingly mundane workspaces. Claudia is a hairdresser while Riva is a concrete manufacturer. Looking at this set of photos, you know there will never be a dull moment in their journey together. The team tells us more about how these two fell in love, despite their differences. Happiness.

All Season – Photo: “Opposites attract is a term that truly describes these two. Riva is an old friend of my wife and me. We were ecstatic when we heard about them getting hitched. Riva is mature, crazy but not wild, religious, soft-spoken, very charming, a simple guy, and he probably has the same retirement plan most Balinese guys have – to live quietly in a nice villa overlooking the rice paddies.

“She, on the other hand, is this gorgeous, independent, bubbly, very jet-setting big-city kind of girl, with maybe a retirement plan of living in a penthouse overlooking the bright lights of the Big Apple. Yet here they are, completely head over heels about one another. All of their differences seem to make the other a better person. I had a great time shooting their bridal portraits and I’m so happy for the two of them.”

Vintage Bridal Portraits

Photography by Jangguttouch. www.theweddingnotebook.com

The thing about outdoor photoshoots in Malaysia is you can hardly predict the weather. Cool weather, however, isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Oftentimes what is unplanned can seem all the more beautiful and unique. Of course a good photographer who knows how to adapt is important.

Jangguttouch: “The day was cloudy and hazy. The weather was obviously not on our side. We could not get proper light. However, at the click of the first shutter, we could feel that we would have breathtaking photos later. The haze and the branches of fallen trees helped us to create a temperate-climate setting. Everything made the day amazingly perfect!”

Countryside Photoshoot

Gallerie CK: “The couple wished to have their portrait session done in the countryside, so we decided to do it in Sekinchan during the harvest season. We were so fortunate to find some hay rolls. The location was like a mini Tuscany. It was so beautiful it took our breath away.

“The second location we chose was a beautiful farm at UPM; it had beautiful morning sunlight. The harvest fields were filled with hay rolls and surrounded by trees, and there was the smell of fresh green grass. All this just reminded us of how these locations are truly a land of abundance.”

Girl Meets Bike

Inlight Photos. www.theweddingnotebook.com

When we saw these bridal portraits with a Royal Enfield vintage motorcycle that was licensed by the Crown in 1890, we just knew we had to cover the story. This set is for your man.

Joshua of Inlight Photos: “Edwin is a motorbike lover, while Cynthia is from the creative industry. We basically used these two elements to design the photography concept and style for their engagement and bridal portrait shoots. This is what we’ve always enjoyed doing – styling the theme and capturing the moments based on a couple’s love story, background and personality.”

Love

© Andrew Yep Photographie. The Wedding Notebook - Love

This set of photos seems to have been very carefully planned and put together. Jean’s lovely lace dress looks simple and sweet, just right for props like these. The Coke bottles and red apples have nothing to do with each other but somehow, the red branding of Coke brings everything together. Enjoy!

Original Old Town Coffee

Bridal portraits in Ipoh. Photography by ZA Gallery

Rong Hui is a Singaporean girl. Yin Huan spent his high school years in Singapore, but actually grew up in a small town in Malaysia called Ipoh. She may not have been there for his childhood years, which were some of the most precious of his life, but by taking these photos, we feel as if it’s a way for him to embed her into those beautiful memories, making them even better.

A Short Film About Love

We’re not sure about you, but personally we feel that movies based on true stories have always touched us more. We wouldn’t even call this a video; it’s a short film. This is a love story really worthy of sharing, not just something put together to amuse wedding guests. We’re so glad this couple did it. The filming of this video was very well planned and masterfully directed. It left us on the verge of tears, and assured us that there is no need to rush into a relationship. Someone up there has it all planned and his timing is always perfect.

The Veil

Acapella Photography Singapore

Here’s a set of photos that you can sit down with and just enjoy. Marvel at how each photo has been carefully thought through, from the composition and the space to the lighting. The flow of the veil, in particular, adds a very dynamic feel to it.

When The Ground Gave Way

Ndrew Photography Malaysia

On this afternoon, the sun shone ever brighter and the vast sky was blue and elegant. It was almost as if all creation was working together for the perfect photoshoot. Even the rock formations stood confidently and the ground opened up to make way for this couple, who were filled with tremendous character and energy. You’ve got to love the contrast of the yellow platform heels against the textures on the ground.

Broadway Charm

Chris Ling International Photographers. www.theweddingnotebook.com

This charming couple dazzles so effortlessly with a Broadway set behind them. Jeffrey’s light grey three-piece suit looks perfect on him. A black suit wouldn’t have delivered the same result. At the same time, if Tessa had chosen a dress with a pale colour, it wouldn’t have been as captivating. That is why these photos, which were taken at Universal Studios Singapore, are great. All the touches, from lights to styling, come together so beautifully that we could almost make a theatre poster out of it. The photographer pulled it off very well indeed.
