A Gold And Tiffany Blue DIY Wedding At Suffolk House, Penang

Anna Rina Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Choosing to DIY your own wedding can be overwhelming, but this bride and groom each picked out a colour and ran with their ideas. She chose gold while he chose Tiffany blue – two colours that look amazing together, much like the couple themselves. With joyful yellow balloons decorating the wedding aisle, the bridesmaids (each in mismatched bridesmaid outfits) walked down the aisle with parasols in lieu of floral bouquets. For the reception, the vintage decorative elements, such as the gold painted wine bottles, perfectly contrasted against the modern chandeliers of the venue. Thanks to Anna-Rina Photography for this beautiful set of photos that capture the unbridled joy and happy smiles of the couple and their friends and family.

A Classic All-White Roses Wedding in Perth

Munkeat Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

A white rose is the perfect symbol of marriage and new beginnings. This wedding was a refreshing mix of old and new, with traditional elements like an all-white colour palette, but also resplendent extravagance in the form of chandeliers and clear crystal glasses.

What really stole the show though was the abundance of white roses that adorned every single part of the wedding décor, and how this couple infused their story so completely into their wedding. Thanks to Munkeat Photography for capturing this stunning set of photos!

Kim: “The most memorable moment was seeing each other for the first time at the altar, and having my husband’s two brothers as his groomsmen and my two sisters as my bridesmaids by our sides. Another moment was when my husband sang John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ while playing the piano.

“Our theme was classic elegance as we’re both quite traditional. We chose white, gold and touches of black, as they’re our favourite colours. We only had white roses – we had over 10,000 fresh white roses flown in, and a rose flower wall with 6,000 silk flowers. I’ve dreamt of getting married at St. Mary’s Cathedral ever since I was a little girl, and the cathedral is a mix of old and new with glass panels letting in all the beautiful natural light.

“As for our reception, we have sweet memories of our chosen venue, the Crown ballroom. It was on the dance floor in this exact ballroom that my husband asked me to be his girlfriend five years earlier.

“We had KoKo Black chocolates as our favours – we both love chocolates and the boxes matched our theme perfectly. Our biggest and only DIY project was our flower wall covered in roses that was our backdrop behind the bridal table.

A Classic And Sleek Surprise Wedding in Sydney

Photo by Wattle and Lace Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We love how this couple managed to pull off a surprise wedding! They told their guests that they would be surprising the groom for his 30th birthday, only to turn the tables on them!

The theme of black, white and silver was elegant and classic without giving anything away, and the bridal couple actually styled everything on their own – waking up early to do everything on their wedding day before heading back to the hotel to get ready together. Many thanks to Wattle & Lace for capturing these joyous moments.

A Romantic Pink Wedding at Ferguson Valley, WA

Steve Madden bridal shoes. Photo by Ben Yew Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Traditionally, the groom would have his brothers and/or best guy friends and the bride would have her sisters and/or best girlfriends for their respective wedding parties. But whoever said that the bride’s best friend couldn’t be a guy and vice versa?

Bridesman, man of honour, groomsmaid or best lady – call them what you will, the bottom line is that on one of the most significant days of your life, you want your closest and dearest standing next to you as you say ‘I do’.

Keeping the wedding minimal and theme-less, without any accented colours, this bride had all her bridesmaids (including a guy!) dress in dusty pink. What a lovely twist on an otherwise classic wedding. Thanks to Ben Yew Photography for capturing these beautiful moments.

Jade: “It’s quite hard to pinpoint any one moment as our whole day was amazing from beginning to end! Everything went according to plan, and it was so fulfilling to finally see everything come together!

“One moment I will always look back on with a smile is walking down the aisle and finally getting to see my husband. Our photographer Ben Yew also made the day so much fun. We wouldn’t have laughed as hard as we did if it weren’t for him. We all felt extremely comfortable around him, which allowed for some amazing photos. Our DJ Nathan Wheals was also great; he really made the reception the party we wanted it to be.

An Elegantly Glamorous Wedding in Singapore

High ceilings, whitewashed walls and glass-stained windows gave this wedding a simple yet magical backdrop. We loved how everything was kept minimal yet elegant and classy with small details that made the wedding very personal – such as the beautiful flower arch and draping vines up against the white interior of the church, as well as the gold accents on the beautiful chandeliers and gilded pillars at the reception. Many thanks to Bloc Memoire Photography for this stunning set of photos.

Magdalene: “Months before the wedding, people constantly reminded us to not get caught up in wedding prep and the hustle and bustle of the actual day, but to really treasure and enjoy those moments. I think we took this advice very seriously.

“So when I was walking down the aisle with my dad, I wanted to remember that moment forever and told myself that I would only focus on Johnny. But who would have known that my (usually serious) father would be chatting the whole time I was walking down the aisle and saying stuff like, ‘Smile’, ‘Say hello to Auntie X’, and ‘Hey isn’t that your boss’! And there I was, trying to savour that precious moment and focus on my husband-to-be. Johnny, on the other hand, got so overwhelmed with emotion when he saw me walking down the aisle that he had to look away to stop himself from crying.

An Intimate Glasshouse Wedding in Sydney

Photo by Jenny Sun Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

They kept the colours simple with just white and dusty pink, and let nature do the rest. We especially loved the transparent marquee roof that gave this wedding ceremony its beautiful natural light.

Going hand in hand with the garden setting, the combination of bridal flowers, with lots of leafy greens, beautifully complemented the ceremony’s intimate feel, while the tea lights and floral centerpieces for the reception made for a simple yet elegant finish. Thanks to Jenny Sun Photography for this sweet set of photos.

Blush Pink Chic Wedding at City Harvest Kuala Lumpur

Photo by Alex Tan Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Unfortunately, Malaysia’s (often uncomfortable) tropical weather just doesn’t lend itself well to outdoor celebrations. But with its expansive windows and high ceilings that added to the glamour and beauty of this ceremony, City Harvest KL is arguably the next best thing to an outdoor wedding.

From the bridesmaids’ mismatched gold and glittery dresses and groomsmen’s dapper grey suits to the soft pink, white and green bridal bouquet, everything came together for this wedding, complementing each other perfectly. Just like the bride and groom. Thanks to Alextan Artworks for capturing this stylish and glamorous affair set up by Mint Events & Soirées.

A DIY Urban Industrial Chic Wedding

This couple made DIY so much more enjoyable. Their courage to explore different materials and prototypes to come up with something different and new made this wedding thoroughly theirs. They might have co-founded a laser cutting company but they didn’t just use it, they took the opportunity to push boundaries and reveal even more possibilities. We love the contemporary industrial theme. Thanks, Jonathan Ong, for sending this set over.

This bride headed out of town to hunt for her dream wedding venue, and she found it – a gorgeous chapel overlooking the ocean. These photos are lovely, and we have to thank MangoRed for them.

Olivia: “One of the most memorable parts was when I was waiting to walk down the aisle and the confirmation of our marriage. The bridegroom photo session at ‘Marlboro Country’ was breaktaking too, and I loved the father daughter dance, as well as our first dance as husband and wife.
