Tropical Paradise Wedding at Ma-Ni Thai Cuisine in Tanjong Malim

Photo by Jessiel Yee Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Dig a little deeper and you will find that there are many hidden wedding venue gems within the Klang Valley. We were absolutely delighted with this tropical paradise wedding at Ma-Ni Thai Cuisine in Tanjong Malim, Hulu Langat, and impressed with this couple’s creative touches that sought to bring family and friends together for a memorable evening without overstretching their budget.

The venue’s towering palm trees and luscious foliage set the perfect stage for the fun and romantic evening they had in mind. The sounds of camaraderie filled the air as guests showed up colourful outfits, adding visual and audible life to the occasion. Thank you, Jessielyee Photography, for this amazing album!

“We chose the venue before deciding on the theme,” shared the bride. “From there, we knew what theme would be suitable, and we ran navy blue and orange through it. We also chose just one flower, the Bird of Paradise, so as not to have too many species crowd our theme.

“We presented guests with cute little tropical fruit-scented soaps as wedding favours. To personalise the gifts further, each guest was provided with a booklet of our love story and programme for the night. We are very grateful to have had a group of friends to help us with the whole planning and coordination of the wedding. Most things were prepared DIY with the help of friends, from flower arrangements to the desserts. We are also very thankful that the owner of the restaurant (who became our friend after this) personally ensured that everything went well. We served a scrumptious Thai meal to all our guests and they enjoyed it.”

Tips from the bride: “I think the best tip is to always remember that as much as we would like to make our dream wedding a reality, it is more important to focus on the marriage. Wedding is only a oneday event but marriage is a lifelong journey. Plan your wedding according to your means and budget, do not splurge on unnecessary things just to make it ‘instagrammable’. You can still do that but do it in a creative way; it’s quite fun to challenge yourself to find other ways to make things nice and see how things work out in the end. I think one of the most important things is to choose a good photographer and videographer who can capture all those magical moments in the wedding so you can look back on it with your husband when you are 90 and relive those moments together.

“I also think the quality of the food is very important, especially when your wedding requires travelling out of the city. We respected our family and friends’ time and we knew it would be great to end the night with a scrumptious meal as a treat to thank everyone for being a part of our big day.”

An Elegant Woodland Garden Party in NSW, Australia

Oh, these newlyweds really knocked it out of the park with their dreamy woodland romance. From the ivy and green décor to the sparklers, this was all kinds of a midsummer’s night dream. Against the clean and simple palette of green, white and pale pink, the only things that really shone were the bride’s bright smile and everyone’s uncontainable joy. The dancing, happy toasts and sweet vows were the main event of the day. Many thanks to Tealily Photography for capturing these amazing shots!

Bad weather is a typical concern for couples who choose to wed outdoors, and Pei Pei and Vincent didn’t get to say their vows until later on, when Pretty Little Things were able to slot it into the wedding reception. “It really meant a lot to us,” she said. Kudos to Pretty Little Things for thinking on their feet, and many thanks to Sam Leong of Fixer Photography for these brilliant photos!

Garden weddings have gained in popularity among our readers in the past few years, with many bridal couples and their guests finding the fresh air a fitting and welcome environment for the happy occasion. For Megan and Jon, their choice of navy, white and gold flavoured the intimate affair with class, the colours greatly complementing the natural outdoor setting. It always works well when the theme colours are based on classics or neutrals, don’t you think? Thank you, Peter Herman Photography, for this fantastic album!

Luscious Green And Blush Rustic Garden Wedding At Pulai Spring Resort Johor

Photo by Louis Han Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

It was their mutual love for classical music and the outdoors that made Pulai Spring Resort Johor an easy yes for this handsome couple. “From the moment we set foot in it actually,” the bride, Michelle, shared.

Set on a golf course, the resort features a vast expanse of greenery, providing the couple with the canvas they had always envisioned for their wedding. Theming the affair “Rustic Garden”, they ornamented the pretty lawn with a palette of pink and pastels, plus hints of gold for a romantic touch.

“Hani, our florist, did a fantastic job making our day beautiful,” said Michelle. And for the proverbial cherry on top, the newlyweds marched out to the melodious tune of ‘Viva la Vida’, played by the popular string quartet Dimento. Thanks for these awesome pictures, Louis Gan Photography!

An Earthy DIY Cosy Garden Wedding

Sometimes the best-laid plans are when there are fewer or close to no plans. These newlyweds pulled off their cosy garden wedding, including DIY projects such as the ring pillow and wedding arch, in surprisingly little time!

The garden surroundings were the perfect complement to their simple and clean colour palette. Keeping with the nature theme, the bridal bouquet was understated and gorgeous, with eucalyptus branches standing in contrast to the white and cream flowers. Also juxtaposed against the green and white shades were the wooden textures and accents. Meanwhile, the bridal party wore grey to keep things neutral and ensure that the focus was on the bridal couple’s celebration of their love for each other. Thanks for these beautifully captured shots, MunKeat Photography.

Blush, Gold And Green Backyard Wedding

Photo by Mcs Wedding Gallery. www.theweddingnotebook.com

When the father of the groom said he didn’t want a “typical Chinese wedding”, this couple jumped at the opportunity to do something different – a backyard wedding for loved ones and close friends that was swanky yet cosy.

The first thing they did was to hire a reliable wedding planner and discuss their plans with a decorator. They decided on blush, gold and green – colours that they loved and that would bring out the natural beauty of the family home. Bouquets of roses and hydrangeas adorned the lovely garden where they would wed, and every other detail, too, was planned and carried out to perfection. Many thanks to MCS Wedding Gallery for this fantastic album!

Blush And Brass Garden Wedding At Alila Villas Uluwatu Bali

It was as much a reunion as it was a wedding celebration for Ken Eun and Min Chung. We love how this South Korean couple living in New York had a most intimate garden wedding at Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali, Indonesia. Planning a destination wedding can be a stressful affair, especially with the remote sourcing and organising, but kudos to this awesome bride for pulling it off so beautifully. Many thanks to DiktatPhotography for these mesmerising photos!

Kee Uen was browsing on Pinterest when she fell in love with the blush on green theme. Combining bronze, brass and tan with varying shades of blush, the couple’s wedding was a dignified display of the features she liked, including the monstera leaf and the king protea flower. Trees sparkled with fairy lights, casting a romantic glow over loved ones as they dined beneath a sunset sky.

DIY Wedding Of Gold, Pink And White At Cameron Highlands

Photo by Peter Herman Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Fusing delicate peonies with elements of gold for their wedding, this couple went the DIY route – as much as they could. The groom, graphic designer and wedding photographer Andrew Yep, designed the invitations and stationery, and created direction boards using recycled wood and hand painted calligraphy. Meanwhile, the wedding favours were jars of locally produced strawberry jam. Thanks for these beautiful photos, Peter Herman Photography, and congratulations, Alice and Andrew! Our best wishes with you, and we’re so happy to see you both tie the knot.
