A Bohemian Chic Wedding In Jakarta

There’s something about Felicia and Nico’s bohemian chic wedding that we cannot get enough of. It incorporates elements of nature, along with a certain romanticism and individuality.

The bride rocked her flowy, dreamy dress with lace detailing from Bramanta Wijaya Sposa, plus a fresh flower crown to match. Her rustic bouquet with red charm peonies and mixed cacti corsages for her bridal party all added to the boho feel.

Throw in indie rock ballads and funk music, set against the serene backdrop of the Damai Indah Golf and Country Club, and you have yourself a wedding to remember! Thanks so much, Axioo, for sharing these gorgeous photos with us.

A Dreamy Floral Indoor Garden Wedding At Glasshouse At Seputeh

Wedding chairs decor. Photo by Plan A Production. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Resembling a hanging garden or even an enchanted forest, this wedding at the Glasshouse @ Seputeh was the perfect outdoor celebration – indoors. The lush flowers and baby’s breath in sleek clear glassware, as well as the classic colour palette of white, yellow and green added a touch of understated elegance, while fairy lights and the use of rose gold glitter gave the wedding a glamorous yet dreamy feel.

We especially love the bride’s unconventional blue wedding dress with floral appliqués, gorgeously complemented by a wedding bouquet of white orchids. The most breathtaking piece of décor was the hanging tree of white baby’s breath, fairy lights and clear bulb vases – simple yet dramatic. Many thanks to Plan A Production for this incredible set of wedding photos!

A Cool Geometric Silver Wedding At Metal Bees

Photo by Peter Herman Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

It’s not often that you’ll find a bride opting to wear an unconventional wedding gown, but this bride did, and she looked stunning in her sparkly silver wedding gown and chic hairdo. Save for the bridesmaids, who were in flowing silver dresses, guests were asked to come dressed in black.

The cool starry backdrop, geometric decorative elements, sparkly disco lights and cool blue lighting all made for a very cool, very fun party to celebrate the union of two people. Many thanks to Peter Herman Photography for capturing the decorative aesthetics and creative styling by The Next Best Thing so well!

Do check out also their fun filled bridal portraits; we can’t get enough of these two.

Natalie: “It felt more like a party with close friends instead of a traditional wedding party. All our guests showed up in the requested dress code, which really let the shades of silver and glitter pop.

“I loved the edgy geometrical décor of the dessert bar and table settings, as well as the retro disco ball for the dance floor. Everything was done by Shyyi of The Next Big Thing who knew exactly what I wanted for my dream wedding: something cool and unconventional with a touch of glam.

“As for the geometry concept, my husband and I have entirely different personalities but we’re still better together. The geometry shapes represent the two of us coming together as one despite our different edges.”

Tips from the bride: “Planning a wedding takes a lot of time, energy and focus, so whether you know what you want or have no idea at all, a wedding planner can help you to define your theme, concept, mood, and the emotions you want to set. Getting a professional wedding planner will help you save a lot of time and all you have to do is take care of yourself and enjoy every moment of your special day with your dream man.”

A Wes Anderson-Inspired Boho Chic Forest Wedding In Bandung

Photo by Fire, Wood and Earth Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Set in the middle of a misty, dreamy forest and with a striking injection of colour, this wedding perfectly encapsulated the bride and groom’s personality. Thanks to their love for colour and pompoms, the Pine Hill in Bandung was transformed into a fun, bright festival in celebration of this joyous occasion.

Some things were kept simple, such as the bridesmaids’ dresses, which were in silver grey. But we were absolutely blown away by the bride’s reception gown, with its full orange skirt that perfectly complemented the many textures and colours of this soiree. An additional decorative note that we loved – the giant dream catcher set in the middle of their wedding arch. What a perfect design choice! Many thanks to Fire, Wood & Earth for this amazing set of photos, and to Bozza Event Organizer for bringing such a crazy concept to life.

A Cat Lovers’ Wedding At A Cat Café In Singapore

AndroidsinBoots Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

How many couples can say they tied the knot at a cat café? We love how this couple really made their wedding their own. As cat lovers, it only made sense for them to exchange their vows at a cat café, in front of their loved ones and surrounded by their favourite animals.

The beautiful bridal bouquet was all the flowers they had, and their sweet colour combo of white, pink, blue and lavender was topped off with whimsical elements such as gilded dinosaurs that acted as ring holders. Many thanks to AndroidsinBoots for capturing this quirky yet lovely set of wedding photos!

This was a wedding of contrasts, as the venue was rustic with its exposed brick walls yet industrial with its steel staircase and high ceilinged warehouse interior. Strung with lights and set up in a combination of yellow and light grey, this wedding was literally brought together by the efforts of the bride and groom. Their DIY project brought them closer together and they made sure their wedding reflected their personalities and love story. We love the little details too: succulents in the bride’s bouquet, and the various decorative accents. Many thanks to Andrew Yep Photographie for capturing this beautiful wedding.

We love it when we see a couple’s nuptials reflect their personality, and for Jason and Constance, their wedding showed their deep love for each other, their down-to-earth personalities and the joy they wanted to share with their loved ones. The bride knew that she wasn’t a traditional ‘girly’ bride and chose to don a two-piece with oxfords instead of the usual bridal gown and heels. We think she looks fantastic! An Enchanting Rustic Wedding At The National Arts School, Sydney

Photo by Lara Hotz Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

It’s easy to get swept up in the hubbub of planning a wedding, so much so that most newlyweds forget it’s also a celebration of love and one giant party! Not many would’ve thought to get married at an arts school, but this bride and groom had the right idea – exchanging vows at the National Arts School in Sydney against a stunning colourful backdrop, followed by a dinner reception at an old gaol site. Graffiti walls, natural sunlight and aerial shots formed the perfect equation for their wedding photoshoot. Many thanks to Lara Hotz Photography for the gorgeous pictures.

Vanessa: “If there was an underlying theme to the wedding, it was to put on a good party, and a good party needs a centrally located venue, music, food and laughs. The Cell Block Theatre is an old gaol site with grand, high ceilings and sandstone walls so bright hanging festoon lights created the perfect ambience, while the length of the room meant long, shared tables, filled with big shared platters of food. It was all down to the food, the band and dancing: Adam and I met on the dance floor and our relationship blossomed over food, so these two elements were absolutely crucial to us.”

“As a fan of botanical prints, especially fruit and vegetable ones, we used a number of images of fruit and vegetables on our save the dates, invitations and menu/seat name cards. Quite a few people were confused as to why pumpkins or pineapples were used as a theme/motif. They were even more perplexed as to why we had mini toy animals placed at each person’s seat. But it was all for a bit of a giggle!”

Do-it-yourself weddings have taken off in popularity and it’s a chance for couple’s to show some creativity. The chandelier was a brilliant alternative to a tedious Pinterest tutorial. Thanks, Andri Tei Photography, for sending us this set.

Maryanne: “Most of our memorable moments were shared with the people that we love the most. It was a great moment to see my parents and my sister in the morning before the whole day began, having our family and friends witness our union in the presence of God, and being surprised by my husband who composed a song in English and Mandarin. That was a real pleasant surprise.

“It was really amazing to walk into the dinner space at Food for Thought and see how everything had come together; it was even better than what we could have imagined. Our favourite part of the evening was when my husband and I took time to give each family member and our spiritual parents a personalised speech, and give them gifts to honour them and thank them for building our lives and loving us. It was a special moment to express our love and appreciation to each of them.

A Fun And Bright Affair At Swiss Garden Hotel & Residences, KL

This rooftop wedding perfectly represented the happy couple with fun colours, temporary tattoos and lots of laughter. Leona, who is a wedding planner herself, has taught us that ultimately, the best kind of wedding is one where the couple and their guests have a great time! Thanks, Munkeat Photography, for the amazing set of photos.

Leona: “The weather, sunny with a hint of breeze, was perfect. The atmosphere was fun and joyful, and everyone seemed to enjoy the fellowship, food and festivities of the day. It was lovely to have our church friends from different countries in Africa serenade us with a Zimbabwean love song. That was a surprise performance during our wedding ceremony. The speeches were heartfelt and sincere, and my dad made everyone sing ‘Rasa Sayang’ about 17 times (yes I’m exaggerating but just slightly). Everything about our big day was perfect and memorable.

We are proud of this couple who coordinated their own wedding. Once in a while, you’ll see a groom who really wants to be involved, and in this case, it was because he wanted to see his bride happy! We love this wedding not just because of the romantic venue, but also the way they gave it character so they could call it their own. Since both Tenny and Aaron are from an advertising agency, their wedding was filled with quirky copywriting, and they successfully engaged their guests with lots of laughter and tears of joy. Thanks, Bloc Memoire, for capturing it all on photos for us.

Aaron: “The most effort was put into the setup at Nosh. This wasn’t your regular hotel wedding ceremony hence the attention to detail was insane. An hour before the guests arrived, I walked around the venue to make sure that everything was done – the flower arrangements, lighting fixtures, photobooths, etc. During this time, Tenny was finishing up her makeup and she was so excited to see everything after being cooped up in her room the whole time. I wasn’t nervous but rather, excited to see her face when we opened the door to see what our months of preparations looked like. My happiest moment was seeing the look on her face when I led her out of the room. She kept going on about how beautiful it looked and how happy she was – she was practically skipping! It was then that I finally understood what ‘happiest day of your life’ meant.

“The concept was simple – ‘A Night at Our Movie’. We’re both movie buffs and we often piss our friends off because we would have already caught all the movies they wanted to watch. We wanted to go with a theme that was a little bit out of the norm and something close to our hearts.
