How to make your own 'Be My Bridesmaids' boxes. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Bridesmaids Boxes are a really nice gesture, although personally, we’d call them friendship boxes because they store all the dreams a group of girlfriends used to share for each other, and now one of them has found the ideal guy. They are boxes that reminisce the past and celebrate the future. These boxes here were actually done for the winner of our giveaway; we absolutely love her mint, coral, pink and gold moodboard. Here’s a list of other ideas that you might find interesting too.

MATERIALS

* Wooden boxes
* ‘Be My Bridesmaid?’ cards
* Gifts for your bridesmaids
* Colour charts
* Moodboards in photos
* Ribbons according to the theme

STEP 1
Finding these boxes can be quite a task – try art supply shops. Then make sure you find gifts that fit inside. For these we bought small notepads with gold markings on them and Crabtree & Evelyn hand lotions.

STEP 2
Gather from Pinterest or Google Search good quality images that you can print out as a kind of moodboard to help your bridesmaids envision your wedding. To get technical, image resolutions should be 300dpi of your actual print size. For these we added Polaroid frames and even printed backs for the images to achieve the complete look.

STEP 3
The theme colours were pink, coral and gold so we filled the box with punched-out coloured paper in those shades to add a celebratory mood. You can get punchers in various sizes from art and craft shops or a smaller version for a fraction of the price from Daiso (the quality isn’t great but it does the job). The ‘Be My Bridesmaid?’ cards were designed with a watercolour textured background and printed on thicker stock paper.

STEP 4
We also printed mint and gold patterns that perfectly fit inside the box to give it some texture, and included colour charts in mint, pink and gold to emphasise the theme.

STEP 5
Feel free to add a personal letter to each of your bridesmaids. Instead of waiting till after your wedding to write a thank you note, write them a note now. Some brides also add childhood photos that they had taken together, or online shopping vouchers for bridesmaid dress shopping. Nail polish in a theme colour also makes a nice gift.
