Exposed wooden beams strung with fairy lights and wide glass windows that looked out onto a forest of pine trees made for a romantic and rustic wedding venue indeed. These newlyweds exchanged their vows outdoors before the reception, and we especially love the pinecones and leaves for the tablescapes, as well as that naked cake! Many thanks to Shepherd Portraiture for this dreamy set of photos.

Crysane: “We put in a lot of time (and stress) preparing for the wedding, but on the day itself and looking back now, everything felt worthwhile. I never wanted to look like a bride with loud exaggerated colours – that’s just not me. Instead I decided to custom make an appliqué, round-neck lace wedding dress. My bridal consultant asked if I had thought about wearing colour, so I tried this on and didn’t want to take it off! It was the first and last dress I tried on; the rest was easy. The dress was such a statement that it needed next to nothing in terms of accessories. The colour was enough.

“Ours was a wedding weekend at Tanarimba with its amazing landscape. ‘Outdoor elegance’ might be the best way to describe our theme. Our plan was to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet not go too far away. We loved the greenery, wooden structures and the pine tree plantation, as well as the diverse wooded landscape. Kieve and I wanted to make sure our wedding had a lot of ‘us’ and our personality in it. Our florist did an amazing job bringing the outside indoors by using imported flowers, and it was a really intimate space. We had rustic string bistro light bulbs and small flower arrangements that set the perfect tone and complemented the view.”
