Traditionally, the groom would have his brothers and/or best guy friends and the bride would have her sisters and/or best girlfriends for their respective wedding parties. But whoever said that the bride’s best friend couldn’t be a guy and vice versa?

Bridesman, man of honour, groomsmaid or best lady – call them what you will, the bottom line is that on one of the most significant days of your life, you want your closest and dearest standing next to you as you say ‘I do’.

Keeping the wedding minimal and theme-less, without any accented colours, this bride had all her bridesmaids (including a guy!) dress in dusty pink. What a lovely twist on an otherwise classic wedding. Thanks to Ben Yew Photography for capturing these beautiful moments.

Jade: “It’s quite hard to pinpoint any one moment as our whole day was amazing from beginning to end! Everything went according to plan, and it was so fulfilling to finally see everything come together!

“One moment I will always look back on with a smile is walking down the aisle and finally getting to see my husband. Our photographer Ben Yew also made the day so much fun. We wouldn’t have laughed as hard as we did if it weren’t for him. We all felt extremely comfortable around him, which allowed for some amazing photos. Our DJ Nathan Wheals was also great; he really made the reception the party we wanted it to be.

“I wanted a theme-less wedding and didn’t want to focus on a particular colour. All I had were the bridesmaids and wedding favours in my chosen colour (dusty pink). The rest was white, silver and gold. I wanted it to feel very soft and romantic so we played with the lighting to achieve this. We used a lot of candles and filters on all the lights. This also helped with choosing my location – the winery we used for our ceremony had an amazing landscape so we really didn’t need to do a lot to make it look beautiful.”

Tips from the bride: “My number one tip would have to be plan alone; try to keep everyone else out of all the planning as this can confuse you and make you second guess yourself. It’s your day; you don’t need to make anyone else happy besides yourself and your husband. For me, I got everything I needed from Etsy – it’s an amazing website for all your wedding needs.”
