A Dreamy, Romantic Blush And Champagne Gold Soiree

It is our joy to feature the work of Mint Events again. They’re truly a talented team with creative minds that will leave you wanting more. The aisle here is especially beautiful – we’ve seen it on Pinterest and to know that they can do the same is wonderful. Freeze-dried rose petals that were personally sourced and air flown in from the States by the bride gave the venue a pleasant scent and surely added a dreamy touch to the wedding ambience.

Adeline: “Nothing is more satisfying than the joy of seeing months of planning fall into place. Seeing our mood board come to life, and the colour palette of ivory, blush and champagne being painted across the space and on every little detail – it was amazing.

“There was no specific theme, but the goal was to achieve an overall dreamy-romantic feel with a rustic hint to balance out the girly-ness of everything else. The rustic-style photobooth setting was also perfectly complemented by Ciao’s existing red brick exterior.

“The venue was chosen by the couple because it could host both the ceremony and reception, and it had an existing draped marquee with chandeliers that was perfect for a soft, dreamy touch. The rustic exterior of the venue balanced everything out very well.

“The Dessert Table was a fun addition to the wedding. The bride was mindful of the fact that Dessert Table items often end up being untouched, so we put together customised candy bags for guests to pack the extras. This was a crowd pleaser, as guests also didn’t leave empty-handed.”

Mint Events’ tips for brides-to-be: “Having the bridal couple’s trust and confidence is invaluable in the whole planning and execution as we are then trusted to do what we do best. Engage someone whom you trust to execute your wedding vision and, more importantly, choose someone whose work and style you can resonate with.

“We love Pinterest brides – couples who come to us with an existing inspiration board to illustrate their ideas. It’s an exciting shift in the role dynamics because traditionally we would be the ones producing inspiration boards. This adds value to the creative process and helps us align their ideas with our creative vision.”

Vintage Purple Themed At One Rochester

Chris Ling International Photographers. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Chris Ling International Photographers. www.theweddingnotebook.com

It’s no secret that we love DIY weddings. Valerie is a very talented and beautiful bride, and with the help of her friends, she actually put together the reception décor, photobooth and even handmade the props! We know it’s hard to believe but she actually made the floral wreath and that beautiful piece she wore on her head. She’s so talented we can’t help but wonder if she’ll consider going into the wedding industry (hint, hint).

Valerie: “The theme for my wedding ceremony was rustic garden, vintage and shabby chic. One Rochester was the only place that we felt was suited to our wedding theme as it had both an indoor colonial house area and an outdoor garden area. The main colours chosen for the wedding were champagne, purple and ivory to give a vintage and classy atmosphere.

“The wedding favours were skeleton keys that came with a tag which said ‘Key To A Happy Marriage. A secret and special time we all share with family and friends. Love, Abery & Valerie’. I adore vintage keys and they fit so well into our wedding theme. Skeleton keys are commonly used as escort cards but instead we made them our wedding favours. They symbolise the key to love, peace and happiness.

“I wanted a personal touch to our wedding so I decided to DIY most of the décor, props and accessories. Hand-making things is one of my favourite hobbies. I made the photobooth backdrop, my headwear, my brooch bouquet and all the printed goods including my invitations.

“It was very meaningful exchanging our vows in front of family and friends, our unrehearsed and candid dance, and the crazy after-party that went on till 3am.”

Tips from the bride: “Enjoy the process of preparing for the wedding!”

We rarely divide our coverage of a single wedding into two posts but this wedding reception was so gorgeous it deserved a post all by itself. Wishing Tree brought an astounding, romantic feel to the ballroom by filling it with candles and flowers. We like how the décor still had some sort of continuity from the church ceremony, yet had its own elegant and glamorous look. Thanks to The Photoz for giving us a glimpse of this wonderful dinner reception.

Deborah: “The Grand Hyatt was our choice for the dinner reception as we absolutely loved the ballrooms and the hotel’s stylish and elegant interior.”

Tips from the bride: “Stick to the classics and keep to your theme. Don’t clutter your wedding venues or colour palettes. You will find that keeping things simple will really pay off in the end. Pay attention to the details in your theme – I promise they won’t go unnoticed!”

Red And White Polka Dot Theme

Concept and styling by Lettuce & Co. via www.theweddingnotebook.com

Don’t you think we’re missing the point when all the parties and weddings start to look similar? It’s always the same candies, cakes and cupcakes. Maybe you should be a bit more adventurous for your engagement party. Having a theme, even if it’s something as simple as red and white polka dots, can make things so much more fun. Yes, we’ve been featuring quite a few children’s birthday parties but we can’t help it, they are so unexpected and adorable! Perhaps it’s time we let our inner child out and just have a great time. We hope this party that was planned by Robyn and Lisa from Lettuce & Co. makes you smile, just like it did for us.

Ivory And Purple Themed Wedding At Teeq

Event Planner La Memoria Wedding Event. CatKing Photography

Outdoor weddings are beautiful, but a rooftop garden wedding tops them all. The personal touches here add a charm to everything, and we totally love the chalkboard photowall. Thanks for sharing the photos with us, CatKing Photography.

Despite the gloomy weather, the sky cleared when the piano began to play. The bride walked down the aisle, everything happened just as planned, and it was a blessing that someone up there stopped the rain.

Shirley: “The two of us live by these mantras, ‘Keep it simple’, ‘Less is More’ and DIY. We stuck to them for our wedding. Our wedding theme leaned towards more romantic colours, which were ivory and purple. Even my wedding gown was in ivory.

“Everything was very personalised. We were so glad we found La Memoria, who customised and made our wedding distinctly memorable. All the props were thoughtfully handpicked and the design was the result of brainstorming with my husband. We worked extremely closely together and La Memoria gave us all their assistance to have our wedding turn out perfect, even better than we thought.

“We DIY-ed our wedding cards and all the flower vases in our dining area decorations were recycled bottles filled with hydrangeas and baby’s breath. All the guests loved the flower arrangements and some even took them back.”

Green And Yellow Tropical Theme

Marlon Capuyan Photography. Styling by Cuckoo Cloud Concepts. www.theweddingnotebook.com

This is a styled shoot for Giselle and Evahn’s five-year anniversary. It is lovely that the couple chose to celebrate their anniversary with a photoshoot, and it’s even more wonderful when there is a nice spread, done by Cuckoo Cloud Concepts, before them. All they had to do was enjoy the moment together while Marlon Capuyan captured their celebration of this milestone in their lives. The green and yellow tropical tea party theme was totally refreshing. Those mini pineapples on the cake and watercolour touches were just perfect.

Blue And White Candlelight Dinner

Flowers and Décor by Wishing Tree. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Flowers and Décor by Wishing Tree. www.theweddingnotebook.com

Wishing Tree recently created a dreamy, romantic look for Michelle and Bernard. The dinner reception was held at Zamrud Rood at The Club SaujanaT. It is a rather old space, with dark wood walls and floors, and dark blue carpets that they could not remove. See how Wishing Tree transformed the place into a quiet, romantic space for the couple, using a blue and white palette as requested by the bride.

Wishing Tree: “We made pomanders from white chrysanthemums and hung them on the white chiavari chairs. To add more texture and interest to the pomanders, we used white dahlias with stems still attached, wild berries and nosa.

Flowers and Décor by Wishing Tree. www.theweddingnotebook.com

“With the lights turned down and the glow from the candles warming the ambience, the reception became one romantic evening. Balls of baby’s breath and blue hydrangeas arranged at varying heights on long-stemmed holders, surrounded by lower vases of white roses, white dahlias and white eustoma looked simply magical amongst the candles and silver moss.

“Instead of lots of flowers on the tables, we used blooms that were heavy with texture and added visual interest to the arrangements with various glassware, moss, beads and candles. This is something that you can definitely try to recreate on your own!”

This outdoor ceremony and lunch reception was filled with sunshine and happy details, from the sunflowers and colourful macarons to the polka-dot lining and more. The bridesmaids, all dressed in fuchsia, looked really pretty in the photos – instead of stealing the bride’s limelight, the strong colour actually created a greater contrast against the white bridal gown. Great choice. The lovely desserts were made by the bride’s cousins and friends.

This wedding, held at Bankers Club, was planned by Chic Occasions. The place was decorated with blush pink and white hydrangeas, roses and carnations, beautifully combined with black ribbons and lace. The black touches really made the décor stand out from the usual soft wedding looks, and gave it a little bit more character to complement the venue’s dark wood and dark carpet colour.

A Sophisticated Black And White Wedding

Black and white. That is definitely an unusual colour theme for a wedding. But it’s great because it means that your guests will totally be surprised and that is definitely a good start to a very awesome party. This colour combination has a very elegant and sophisticated feel to it. They used a good mix of white flowers like tulips, runuculus, roses, pom-poms and Amar lilies. The carefully wrapped chocolates, candies and table centrepieces blew us away. Another great project from the team at Storybook.

Tones Of Pink

Flowers and decor by Wishing Tree

Most bridal couples using The Club Saujana Resort opt for a garden ceremony but this couple decided to use the private dining room at The Restaurant instead. It was the first time Wishing Tree had done an indoor ceremony at this venue, and it turned out great.

Wishing Tree: “Our couple, Dawn and Rudi, live in Hong Kong, but came back to Rudi’s hometown of Kuala Lumpur for an intimate ceremony with close family and friends.

“We love the simplicity of the private dining room, which allows for décor to be easily customised. We draped the walls, brought in the chiavari chairs and installed the white carpeting for the aisle. We also did the arch with the customised “D & R” initials and the sewn-on “mat” at the start of the aisle.

Flowers and decor by Wishing Tree. The Club at the Saujana, Kuala Lumpur

Flowers and decor by Wishing Tree

“The bride initially wanted only roses for her wedding, but changed her mind when we suggested including baby’s breath and lush, bountiful hydrangeas. Baby’s breath is normally used as a “filler” or in a “supporting” role in floral arrangements, but this time we tried to use them on their own in large amounts.

“We kept the bridal bouquet simple and elegant with just red roses and a touch of green nosa. The bride wanted to keep her bouquet, so we made a smaller one for the bouquet tossing. That’s brilliant for brides who want to hang on to their bouquets.

Flowers and decor by Wishing Tree

Malaysia wedding florist Wishing Tree Kuala Lumpur

“We kept the décor for the ceremony venue classic and elegant. For the entrance, we framed it with white drapes and a lush arrangement of baby’s breath and Taiwanese ivy dangling from the top. The drapes are held in place with more Taiwanese ivy, as well as bunches of roses and hydrangeas. We also set up two arrangements of roses, hydrangeas and baby’s breath that were placed on tall stands and decorated with floor-length tassels and candles.

“Bunches of lush, pink hydrangeas were attached to seats on both sides of the aisle, while the floor was covered in baby’s breath. For the main arch, we used lots and lots of hydrangeas, with some roses, baby’s breath and Taiwanese ivy. Using different shades of pink with touches of white and green added even more dimension to the textures of the flowers.”
