The Beauty Of Borneo

Jon. C Photography

Jon. C Photography

There is so much beauty in East Malaysia it’s hardly surprising that this couple flew all the way to Kudat just for their bridal portraits. Thanks, Jon. C Photography, for sharing this with us.

Jon: “Yeong Hwa and Pei Pei are both doctors and met each other while practicing medicine in Sabah. They are both from West Malaysia but love Sabah so much they decided to have their bridal portraits taken in Kudat, at the tip of Borneo. This place has breathtaking scenery and the most beautiful sunsets. Check out the video and you’ll know what I mean.”

Going Places Together

This couple hasn’t just travelled together; they have literally lived life together, from sharing the same hometown and school to having the same group of friends. We love this set of photos, with the adorable vintage luggage bag that sums up their love for vintage things and travelling. Their outfits also are perfect, especially her polka dot black and white getup, which is just the right pick for their outdoor vintage theme. Thanks, Joshua Chong Photography, for sending us such a lighthearted set, it definitely put a smile on our faces.

Old Colonial Buildings In Kuala Lumpur

Possibly one of the most beautiful and iconic buildings in Kuala Lumpur, it would be such a waste if the Malayan Railway Administration Office weren’t put to good use – perhaps someone could transform it into a hotel? The structure and architectural details are stunning, and it creates such beautiful depth for photos. Thanks, SBXS Photography, for sending us this lovely set.

He Who Sketches His Wife-To-Be

It’s interesting to realise that sketching actually has a lot of things in common with a love relationship. Every artist starts a sketch with certain guidelines, just as many enter a relationship with certain ideals and expectations. Nobody is perfect, but the longer you observe a person, in the same way that an artist adds detail and shading to a sketch, you will begin to see depth and beauty emerge.

A sketch artist never uses an eraser, just like how, in a relationship, you can’t go back to undo your mistakes. Inevitably there will be smudges or strokes that an artist doesn’t like, and when that happens, he can choose to stop, or keep going and make a beautiful picture out of it.

See this artist sketch his wife-to-be in this story that has been so beautifully put together by Axioo.

Boxing At Sekinchan

Bridal portraits at Sekinchan. Photo by hellojanelee. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We recently found out that Jane of hellojanelee has a cool little travel journal with collages and stamps collected from the many places she has travelled to. You can be rather sure this lady knows how to capture moments and record them. Today, we will show you an entry from the time she travelled with Carrie and Jackson to Sekinchan, a favourite spot in Malaysia for photoshoots. We’re really glad she came up with something so original.

A Day In A Beautiful Neighbourhood Of Shanghai

Effie and Winston met through work in New York City. Both are currently residing in Shanghai, and it is beautiful to have their photographer capture their everyday life around their neighbourhood. We love this because when you look at these photos, you don’t just focus on how they look, but you also allow the surroundings to add another layer of narrative. We can’t emphasise enough how much we love Chris Spira’s photography style, and the fact that she spends so much time in Asia. You should really catch her when she is in town!

Bridal Portraits At A Dream Residence, The Troika

The Troika has got to be one of our favourite private residences in Kuala Lumpur, with its minimalist look and beautiful garden that is just perfect for a photoshoot. We wonder if the owners are open to having a garden wedding ceremony there because it would be really lovely. Thanks, The MYTP, for sending this over.

Muizzuddin: “This exceptional luxury residence, with a Porsche Panamera and a wonderful couple, made for a great photography session. The Troika was a wonderful backdrop for the bride and groom, as well as being a photographer’s dream because of its unique design.

Always And Forever

Photo by Adam Ong Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

One of the things we love about Adam Ong’s work is that he is quite versatile and seems to be able to deliver whichever style you prefer. There is a huge difference between that and not having a consistent set of photos. This is what separates professional photographers from the amateurs. Love the nostalgic feel of this set!

Bridal Portraits In Mount Davis, Hong Kong

We always thought Hong Kong was just about tall buildings but this photoshoot has totally changed our minds. We have never seen this beautiful side of Hong Kong, and we are actually falling in love with it. Perhaps it’s also because of this beautiful couple and their chemistry, as well as the amazing work of History Studio.

Kong Wai: “It was a simple and quick photoshoot that I really enjoyed. I thought the light at the end of this shoot was simply amazing. Janice and Calvin looked perfect together and we had a lot of fun with them. I really love shooting couples in their casual wear. It allows them to be more comfortable and to move around easier. Most importantly, the clothes they wear always reflect their personality and style!”
