A Romantic Colonial-Inspired Wedding At The Majestic Hotel

Louis Loo Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

This had all the makings of a classically beautiful wedding, from the venue to the breathtakingly glamorous floral elements and décor. The abundance of white flowers, set against the white walls and colonial architecture, together with the dripping beads, crystals, candles in gilded candleholders and tea lights, all came together so perfectly. Many thanks to Louis Loo Photography for capturing these stunning wedding shots!

With the theme of purple romance, this wedding dinner in the fabled Majestic Hotel is a visual fairytale of dreamy florals and glowing candlelight. Various shades of purple were used throughout, accented by soft whites, pale pinks and glittering gold. With elegant candlesticks and gleaming crystal hangings to round things out, the whole atmosphere was one of romantic softness through and through.

One standout feature that we loved in particular were the Viking table arrangements on each side of the aisle. This allowed for the very effective use of vertical centrepieces, which lead the eye in an unbroken line to the focal point of the whole hall — the main table with its towering centrepiece of cherry blossom branches. With such flawless execution, it must have been a dream come true for the wedded couple!

Another amazing setup by MY Wedding Planner and Wishing Tree. Many thanks to Jon Low Studios for sharing these stunning photos with us.

A Classic Floral and Ornate Wedding At Shangri-la Hotel Jakarta

Following a romantic proposal that featured candles and rose petals, it only made sense that this bride and groom would bring that aesthetic to their wedding reception. With florals as the central theme, this wedding was tastefully elegant and romantic. Keeping things classic, the reception was all about breathtaking grandeur, with opulent chandeliers and hanging crystals, blush pink flowers and decorative vases. For their ceremony, the couple exchanged vows under a stunning floral arch with white flowers and lush greens. Many thanks to Feztography for this beautiful set of photos.

Putting together an elegant white on white wedding is no easy feat; there needs to be the right balance of drama and grandeur. This wedding got it right – from the elaborate floral centerpieces with dangling pearls and crystal elements to the gilded candelabras and the red drinking glasses, not to mention the lush green floral photo backdrop that was the most breathtaking piece of décor! Another perfect collaboration between Tie The Knot and Wishing Tree. Thanks to Zung from The Photoz for capturing this absolutely stunning set of photos.

A Gilded, Glamorous Wedding At Tanarimba, Janda Baik

This juxtaposition of gold and gilded glamour against the lush greenery of nature certainly made for a comfortable yet elegant wedding. Despite the detailed décor, the couple kept things cosy and intimate, infusing much of their personality into their wedding. With simple décor points like white drapery and green vines looping the wedding arch, modern bridesmaids’ dresses, magical hanging lights, and elaborate, gorgeous centrepieces with hanging vines and beads, everything came together perfectly. Many thanks to Brian Ho of thegaleria for capturing this stunning set of photos.

Charlotte: “It was really special to have my father walk beside me and give me away to the man I was about to marry. It was the best father-daughter moment. He was way more composed than me, as he was calm, smiling and initiated applause from our guests. When he handed me over to Adam, he paused and said, ‘Please take good care of her for me.’ Strong emotions welled up and we had to hold back tears.

“Another special moment was when Adam surprised me by singing ‘Like I’m Gonna Lose You’ and serenaded us into our first dance. Also, when I stepped into our venue hall early in the morning of our big day and saw that my entire extended family was already there busy setting up and decorating the whole place. I knew the day was going to be more than great because everyone who has loved and supported us from day one were there.

“We wanted a place that was away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet not too far away. We loved the greenery and wooden structures of Tanarimba and felt comfortable in that setting. Adam and I wanted to make sure our wedding had a lot of ‘us’ and our personality in it. We had each of our guests’ names written in calligraphy (by my best friend) for their place cards, the napkins were imprinted with our wedding logo, the tables were named according to our relationship milestones (such as our courtship, where he proposed, our first kiss, etc). And for wedding favours, we had our logo made into stickers and stuck them onto wine glasses for the guests to eventually take home.”

Tips from the bride: “We were our own wedding planners so if you’re going down that route too, get your gowns, heels and makeup sorted early, as that’ll give you more time to plan the rest. I used a lot of images from Pinterest and created a moodboard to share with my bridal party. Be certain about what you want, delegate tasks according to your strengths, make a list to prioritise what is absolutely necessary and what can be omitted based on budget. For example, a good photographer is paramount, so I made sure I got one whose style is one I admired. Also, make very thorough event briefs and communicate that meticulously to your trusted friends who’ll be helping you coordinate your wedding day because on that day, you’ll just want to look beautiful, soak in the moments, and rock and roll.”

An Extravagant Wedding At Marini’s On 57

The decorative details at this wedding were simply breathtaking, and we love the colour palette that surely added to its sophistication: white to symbolise faith, black to convey elegance, and grey as a compromise between the two.

The bride favoured a cosy garden wedding, and that was made possible with a leafy green wall and astro turf right on the 57th floor, with a view of the Petronas Twin Towers! After the bridal couple exchanged their vows, their reception was where the magic happened: from the white roses to the lavish gilded candleholders, from the black tablecloths to the sumptuous silver sequined cake.

The draped curtains added dramatic flair to the evening, and there were beautiful smiles and the sounds of laughter all round. Many thanks to The Peak Xperience and Wishing Tree for the beautiful setup, and Axioo for this incredibly stunning set of photographs!

Sometimes the best wedding ideas appear when you’re not looking, and that’s what happened with this bride, as she fell in love with what she thought was an unconventional wedding colour. The result was a sleek and elegant modern wedding: from the floral adornments of the lush hedge wall framing the couple’s exchange of vows, to the gold glitter tablecloth that added a touch of glamour. A Tea Party Wedding at Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Keeping things classy and comfortable, this couple made sure that they would get the chance to spend quality time with their guests – by throwing a “majestic tea party”! The Majestic Hotel’s Orchid Conservatory is stunning, both for a party (to be surrounded by such beautiful flowers!) and for photographs (all that natural light!). The afternoon tea set also perfectly complemented the tea party wedding celebration. Thanks to Hong of Fabulous Moments for this breathtakingly beautiful set of photos.

Ai-Leen: “Every little bit was memorable; however, we were touched that friends and family flew in from around the world to be there with us to celebrate our wedding. Being surrounded by people whom you care for the most and who care for you the most really meant a lot to us.

“We decided that we didn’t want a large wedding, so the Orchid Conservatory was perfect. We wanted a celebration to remember, so an Annie Leibowitz-style Vogue group photo theme was chosen. Classic, comfortable and classy was the idea, and everything revolved around it. Our photographer, Hong, was perfect and accommodating of our photo ideas; Majestic Hotel also had some of the best locations to convey that theme. We ended up with a very unique photo that captured everything we wanted.”

Tips from the bride: “Enjoy it! After months of hard work planning for the wedding, this should be the day that brides enjoy and celebrate. There’s no point turning into ‘bridezilla’ on your special day, so take a deep breath, take a step back and focus on celebrating with your loved ones and taking it easy… even if some things don’t go as planned!”

Just the right amount of glitter and sparkle gave this wedding the perfect touch of glamour and elegance – from the immaculately decorated tablescapes and backdrops to the gorgeous giant rosettes on the back of the bridal table’s chairs; from the stunning bride in her gown to the ballroom’s chandeliers, everything looked like a magical fairytale. Many thanks to Wishing Tree for the beautiful floral touches and magnificent décor, and to Louis Loo of Deviews Production for capturing these special moments.

Su-Quinn: “Grand Hyatt’s chandeliers in their ballroom gave the entire hall and setup a great illumination, and it went hand-in-hand with my glitter theme. Somehow all the colours worked so well together. It was basically a pastel palette with a touch of glitter.

“After working closely with the Wishing Tree team, we finally decided on a Hall of Mirrors backdrop – based on the most sought-after room in the Palace of Versailles in France. I was hesitant at first, for fear that it would make the whole ambience too gold or gaudy, but it proved me wrong.”

Tips from the bride: “Trust your instincts when it comes to vendors and when you first interview them. Ask yourself if they’re capable, responsible and able to take your honest opinion in the times to come. Don’t be so hard on yourself – I realised I brought a lot of strain upon myself, when others didn’t even notice the minute details.”

High ceilings, whitewashed walls and glass-stained windows gave this wedding a simple yet magical backdrop. Magdalene: “Months before the wedding, people constantly reminded us to not get caught up in wedding prep and the hustle and bustle of the actual day, but to really treasure and enjoy those moments. I think we took this advice very seriously.

“So when I was walking down the aisle with my dad, I wanted to remember that moment forever and told myself that I would only focus on Johnny. But who would have known that my (usually serious) father would be chatting the whole time I was walking down the aisle and saying stuff like, ‘Smile’, ‘Say hello to Auntie X’, and ‘Hey isn’t that your boss’! And there I was, trying to savour that precious moment and focus on my husband-to-be. Johnny, on the other hand, got so overwhelmed with emotion when he saw me walking down the aisle that he had to look away to stop himself from crying.

Blush Pink Chic Wedding at City Harvest Kuala Lumpur

Unfortunately, Malaysia’s (often uncomfortable) tropical weather just doesn’t lend itself well to outdoor celebrations. But with its expansive windows and high ceilings that added to the glamour and beauty of this ceremony, City Harvest KL is arguably the next best thing to an outdoor wedding.

From the bridesmaids’ mismatched gold and glittery dresses and groomsmen’s dapper grey suits to the soft pink, white and green bridal bouquet, everything came together for this wedding, complementing each other perfectly. Just like the bride and groom. Thanks to Alextan Artworks for capturing this stylish and glamorous affair set up by Mint Events & Soirées.
