A Cheery Yellow and Navy Garden Wedding in Janda Baik

We can’t help it – this wedding just puts a smile on our faces! There is something so friendly and bright about sunflowers, and we love how they perfectly complemented the navy blue shades. How about that bright blue dress that the mother of the bride wore? The cheerful pops of colour, together with the unbridled joy of the newlyweds and their loved ones, certainly made for a gleeful celebration. Many thanks to Pause Studios for these sweet photos.

A Rustic Chic Burgundy Outdoor Wedding in Janda Baik

Photo by The Wedding Barn Gallery. www.theweddingnotebook.com

You can’t go wrong with a rustic chic theme when the venue is Tanarimba at Janda Baik. The beautiful surroundings, wooden columns and lush greenery are more than enough, and all you need is a rich pop of colour. For these newlyweds, it took the form of burgundy floral elements. The bride looked stunning in her bridal gowns, especially the long-sleeved, short-skirted dress. Of course, what brought it all together was the vibrant joy at the celebration – thank you, The Wedding Barn Gallery, for these photos!

Bridal Portraits in South Island, New Zealand, in a Campervan

Photo by Nicholas Yuen Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We adore this sweet love story. The bride is an old friend of the photographer’s, and had recently gotten married. She wanted to shoot her bridal portraits in South Island, New Zealand, and the result, this beautiful album, reads like a tapestry of the newlyweds’ love. Thank you for these breathtaking captures, Nicholas Yuen Photography!

The couple had been to New Zealand several times before. For this trip, they wanted to explore to their hearts’ content, which required meticulous planning with their photographer. With a rented campervan as their dressing room and “base”, they were able to travel through the New Zealand countryside and capture the most stunning scenery. Now that’s a photoshoot of a lifetime!

We love the exhilarating tempo of this unconventional wedding that was held at Wesley Methodist Church, Hotel Fort Canning and The Grand Marquee in Singapore. The lovely couple opted for just a wedding march in order to spend more time with their guests, showcase the special performances, and enjoy that which mattered the most. Thank you for these brilliant captures, AndroidsinBoots!

Bridal Portraits Set Against Gorgeous Blue Skies at Pantai Klebang and Jonker Walk, Melaka

Klebang Sand Dunes Malacca. Jens Kv Photography. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We say, hats off to the couples who are not afraid of a little inconvenience when it comes to getting their dream bridal portraits. Our tropical climate can make shooting in places like Pantai Klebang and Jonker Walk in Melaka tricky, but the temporary discomfort is worth it for a lifetime of memories. Thank you, Jens KV Photography, for these spectacular shots!

This couple definitely didn’t let the heat and humidity deter them, and if there ever was a good time for PDA, that time is now! The bride-to-be looked fresh and gorgeous in her tulle baby blue gown, while her groom-to-be looked dapper and in great spirits. It’s fine projects and adventures like these that remind couples of happy days, shared challenges, and the strength of their union.

An Incredible Adventure for Bridal Portraits in Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Iconic space for wedding photoshoot at Yogyakarta. Photo by Superpanda Presents. www.theweddingnotebook.com

How awesome is it to share a love of adventure with your better half? This couple kept things simple and relaxed for their bridal portraits shoot that took place at a number of locations in Yogyakarta, Indonesia: Burobudur Temple, the Taman Sari underground mosque, Mt. Merapi and Prambanan Temples. Their photographer did a fine job so thank you for these shots, Joseph Daniel Batino of Superpanda Presents!

Check out those incredible stairs at the Taman Sari underground mosque, they are almost like an optical illusion! There’s nothing like exploring an exciting site to infuse life and adventure into your bridal portraits. The couple also had some photos taken at the Plataran Borobudur Hotel, where they stayed. Their little ensemble stayed in Yogyakarta for five days for the photoshoot/vacation, which proved the perfect way to relax before the big day!

A Simple Church Ceremony in a Magnificent Cathedral in Hong Kong

Photo by Chester Kher Creations. www.theweddingnotebook.com

We love the beautiful and classy touches in this wedding that was held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hong Kong. We even got a glimpse of the bridal couple and the bride with her maid of honour enjoying some sparkly at the Island Shangri-La Hotel before they set out. Thanks for these amazing shots, Chester Kher Creations!

Imagine waking up to this amazing view of the city skyline on the morning of your wedding, and then saying your vows at this magnificent cathedral that is also one of the most sought after wedding venues in the country. One of the best things about getting married in an architectural masterpiece such as this is that the pictures will continue to tell the story long after the event is over. May this gorgeous couple’s union be as sweet and grand as their wedding day experience.

Dream Bridal Portraits Come to Life in Kyoto, Japan

This Covid-19 season has probably got a lot of us binge watching TV serials, although many of us would have begun watching our favourites even before the movement restrictions. For this couple, all their TV viewing served a purpose – their bridal portraits were inspired by their favourite Japanese drama series. Fion and Steven shot their portraits in Kyoto, Japan, in the thick of autumn, and the photos are so lovely! Thank you for these, JIWA Photography.

We love the way the weather and colours of Kyoto spark life, warmth and magical vibes in this precious album. The kimonos, antiquity of the town, and old-fashioned streets make Kyoto like nowhere else in the world. Do yourselves a favour and head to that place you love. After all, it’s just this once in your lifetime.

For most photographers, going outside to take photographs is what keeps their creative fire going. With Covid-19 putting us all in lockdown, however, the wedding photography community has been compelled to find new ways to hone their skills. Ultimately, it’s all about composition, inspiration, and going by your gut feeling, right? Building on ND of Sanren Studio’s Zoom photoshoot experiment, Louis Gan of Louis Gan Photography got in on the action too, playing with lights and filters for his photos of Asther and Wilson.
