A styled shoot inspired by this pandemic era is exactly what we need to remind bridal couples that it’s still possible to have the loveliest wedding. This collaboration, led by Eventistry, is filled with not only gorgeous, sustainable ideas but also charitable vendors that are supporting some of our B40 communities. What better way to celebrate love than by sharing with those who need it the most? Thanks, Manoj Photography, for rushing out these edits for us!

Shian Yi of Eventistry: “Our recent ‘Wedding Unusual Styled Shoot’, which we successfully pulled off in collaboration with a team of dedicated wedding professionals, featured a micro/staycation wedding concept. The inspiration was celebrating big while keeping it small. With all the talk about this being the new norm, we wanted to emphasise that the ‘new normal wedding’ doesn’t have to feel distant or foreign. With some clever planning and a bit of thought, your wedding day can still be stunning, yet feel laidback and heartfelt.

“Destination weddings might be out of the question for now, but we found Escape23, which is a picturesque bungalow hidden within a cosy urban neighbourhood with a view of the city skyline. What a perfect option for a staycation wedding away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD! This venue is full of potential, perfect for first looks, ceremonies, cocktail sessions, etc.

“We actually live streamed the vow exchange ceremony on our Facebook page to showcase how a virtual wedding could look like, so that couples could experience a virtual celebration as a guest. This was made possible by Psychoacoustic Sound & Lights. Matt Ong emceed the ceremony and served as wedding solemniser.

“We created two table layouts that are great examples of how your celebration can still look beautiful while complying with social distancing requirements. The table centrepieces had a green potted plant theme and a whimsical dried flower theme respectively. We also featured sustainable ideas such as drinking glasses with reusable guest tags, an artificial bouquet instead of fresh flowers, animated save-the-dates and invitations, etc.

“Celebrations should be more than just grand and luxurious. They should be purposeful and meaningful, especially in times like this. Consider having your food catered by PichaEats, which supports the refugee families in our midst, or buying custom handmade cloth masks and wallets from Komuniti Tukang Jahit (KTJ). KTJ is a local NGO that provides working opportunities to single women, single mothers, the OKU group and stay-at-home mums from B40 communities.”
