Instead of the usual dinner-for-two wedding anniversary celebration, this special couple decided to mark 10 years of fulfilling marriage in a different way – a party with all the important people in their lives to commemorate this significant milestone. It was the perfect opportunity for them to look back on all that they have been blessed with, including a new home for which they had a house blessing at the same time! Surely this was a very special time of reflection and thanksgiving.

The couple’s love for travel and the great outdoors was well represented with vintage suitcases and a teepee, as well as pretty greens and succulents to decorate the scrumptious looking dessert table. Framed moments from their 10-year journey were proudly displayed alongside, and to top the festivities off, all the kids got to jump into the pool afterwards! Many thanks to the lovely Grace of Stories by Integricity for sharing her photos with us.

Grace: “It was great to remember moments from our wedding day and all the special moments we have shared over 10 years of marriage. I felt blessed to have so many loved ones surrounding us, as they have been instrumental in shaping us into the couple we are today. It was an easygoing celebration, just giving thanks to God for all the goodness He has poured into our lives the past 10 years, and at the same time, blessing the new home that we recently moved into.

“The theme was based around the idea of adventure, which is the theme of our lives! Ever since we began dating, we’ve loved going on adventures together, and 10 years later, the adventure continues with two little kids! Having a teepee is fun, we love the idea of camping, and what better way than to do it in our garden! The previous owner of this house had designed it with the renowned architect Kevin Low and renovated it, and we loved its rustic look, which fitted our indoor/outdoor lifestyle as we love to host guests.

“The whole anniversary theme came together easily, and we wanted to fill our party with photos as well since I am a photographer and enjoy seeing our milestones relived through images. I love succulents too so having it on the dessert table was just so pretty. Pretty Little Things really helped to bring these ideas to life.”

Some marriage tips for brides-to-be from this veteran: “Look at the bigger picture instead of inconsequential details. Time away from work for just the two of you is very important! In fact, we’re still working on this one. Actively support each other, especially if one party has a greater strength in a certain area. For example, Alex does the taxes, while I’m the main person managing the kids. Keep working hard to maintain emotional and physical intimacy, and lastly, pray and commit life’s challenges to God together!”
