Christeen and Aaron both love playing video games so much that they planned their wedding around it. With cheerful bright hues like blue and yellow, the atmosphere was lighthearted and fun. Personal touches were visible throughout the wedding, including a bridal gown that was designed by the bride herself and invitations that had been designed by the groom. Christeen even went so far as to paint her shoes blue!
The couple also used Perler beads to make a cake topper and pixelated portraits of themselves, and had a song list of video game theme songs including ‘Pallet Town’ (piano version), and songs from ‘Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword’ and ‘Super Mario 64’. Thanks, Clarzzique, for sharing such a creative wedding with us.
Aaron: “Our first dance as a married couple was the most memorable part for me. I don’t really dance so I was a bit nervous that I would get it wrong but because Christeen led, I felt better. Also, I could not stop smiling at being pronounced husband and wife at the church.”
Christeen: “I found the moment we exchanged our vows the most beautiful. Aaron said that I was glowing. I thought he just meant I was happy, but as it turns out, I was literally glowing because the sun was in my face and illuminating my veil. If you listen carefully to the wedding video, you’ll hear him say that. Another time was when we were taking photos in the park and the photographer said to look serious but we were so happy we couldn’t stop smiling and laughing.
“For something old, I wore a brooch from my mother on my dress. Something new was a ribbon headband from Meadowbelle (etsy), and something borrowed was a pair of my grandmother’s earrings.
“Each wedding guest had a custom made avatar that was used for RSVPs and seating at the reception. Our wedding favours were glass bottles filled with jellybeans to look like potion bottles – red: health, blue: mana, green: stamina. Again, each bottle was tagged with the guest’s personalised avatar.”
