We are swooning over this romantic industrial rustic styled shoot. The lovely hairdo and dresses with a hint of vintage are just divine. Thanks, Heather Lai, for sharing this with us. We are obsessed with your new obsession!
Heather Lai: “I have been thinking about having a rustic styled bridal shoot for a long time. It doesn’t usually happen in my photos; I’m used to having greenery in the background and lots of light and layers in the engagement photos that I shoot. It’s much easier for me to shoot with couples rather than a model because their reactions, responses and personality guide me in telling their story, and I love capturing emotions.
“But as a photographer, I want to be creative and not become lazy and content with staying in my comfort zone. So we started to look for people who were interested in our project, and we were very lucky to get everything ready in just a week. The most difficult part was the location – I did some moodboards and did some research on style, but this kind of location isn’t easily found in Hong Kong. We did some scouting, and when we found this place, we knew this was it.
“Thanks, Anya Tang, for being our model, you’re really gorgeous and professional. Thanks, La Comme Vintage Wedding Bridal, for sponsoring the beautiful vintage wedding gowns and accessories; and thank you, Flare Fiori, for the stunning nosegay bouquet and hairpieces. Special thanks also to Xing MaQuillage for the beautiful makeup and styling. All of these people made our shoot absolutely beautiful. Since doing this, I’ve been totally obsessed with styled bridal shoots and hope to do more in the future.”
