From the sweet pink peonies and roses of the bride’s bouquet to the tranquil blue hue of the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s pocket squares, this wedding had inadvertently blended two of the trendiest colours of the year: Pantone’s rose quartz (pastel pink) and serenity (blue).

This is the first time that Pantone has chosen two colours for Colour of the Year, and just like how the wedding was a beautiful event for two people starting a life together, the two colours together created a beautiful finish for this Melbourne wedding, set against the city skyline. Thanks to Alison Mayfield Photography Studio for capturing these moments.

Tiffany: “Everyone tells you how quickly the day goes by so Nathan and I wanted to spend some time alone to enjoy a moment together. We had our first look at the Royal Botanic Gardens before the ceremony. It was so special and calming for us to be able to walk through the gardens together, even as the nerves built up before walking down the aisle.”

“When we first started wedding planning, we talked about things that were important to us, and good food was one of the things we knew we both wanted. Nathan and I both like fine dining so the catering by Food and Desire really stood out to us. Carousel is also very much a blank canvas with a spectacular view overlooking Albert Park Lake and the Melbourne city skyline. We wanted to maintain the simplicity of the venue so that our guests could enjoy the view.”

“Nathan and I DIY-ed a lot of the elements, including the favours and wedding stationery. We knew we wanted to do something special for our guests, so Nathan started to grow little succulents to gift as favours. We had them growing in little pots for over a year before our wedding, then our family helped us to wrap them and create place cards for each guest. All in all, I felt we were able to strike a perfect balance between creating things ourselves and working with talented vendors to bring the day together.”

Tips from the bride: “I spent countless hours trawling wedding blogs and Pinterest for inspiration and ideas; it became quite overwhelming because it can be easy to get carried away. So my advice is to seek advice from the professionals – speak to your vendors! I shared some of the inspirations I found with my vendors, and with their expertise, we were able to sort through all the ideas and cohesively bring together what we wanted for our wedding day.”
