Keeping things classic with a beautifully modern colour palette of deep burgundy, red and blue, this bride and groom made every part of the flowers, décor and bridal party a reflection of who they were. The dark shades of burgundy in the bridal bouquet perfectly contrasted with the light pops of pink in the décor, and the bride looked absolutely resplendent in her bridal gown, especially with the decadent lace sleeves. It was clear there was so much love and joy on this special day – between the newlyweds and from their guests as well. Many thanks to MunKeat Photography for capturing this gorgeous set of photos.

Jo Ni and Tsen: “The most memorable moment of our big day was when we exchanged vows before God, family members and friends during the morning solemisation in church. That was the most intimate and sacred part of the whole wedding.”

Tsen: “Of course, seeing Jo Ni, who looked as stunning as ever, walking down the aisle towards me was a moment I’ll never forget. I was overwhelmed with emotion as I understood I was about to marry the woman I love and spend the rest of my life with her.”

Jo Ni: “For me, it was when I was walking down the aisle toward Tsen while reminiscing the years I’ve spent with my father, who was walking next to me. I felt assured knowing that I was walking towards my future husband who will love me as much as my father does.”

Jo Ni and Tsen: “The concept behind our wedding was practicality with a personal touch. The colour theme was the pantone colour of the year – a mixture of marsala, blush and sage, with a tinge of gold, grey and blue. The flower decorations, bridesmaids’ dresses, groomsmen’s ties and invitation cards all revolved around this colour theme. The things that we were more particular about were the flowers (dark red peony, red cymbydium, light pink roses, green eryngium, dusty miller leaves, brunia, red amaranthus, blue thistle and eucalyptus leaves), personalised wedding gifts, wedding cards/programme sheets, and scent because scent is closely linked to memory (we used Diptique Baies candles and room spray).

“As much as our wedding day was about us, we were mindful from the start that we wanted it to be about our guests as well. We wanted our wedding to be a blessing to all our guests and to portray Christ’s love through us, knowing that ‘we love because He first loved us’. The goal was to show our guests how much we love and appreciate them. We’re truly blessed to have friends and cell group members who were extremely helpful. This eclectic bunch of multitalented people would have gone the extra mile to make our day even more memorable. Our wedding day was truly meaningful as we felt God’s presence and peace throughout the whole process. As the scripture 1 Corinthians 13:48 says, ‘Love never fails.’”

Tips from the bride: “It’s good to roughly know what matters most to you and pay attention to those components rather than wanting to have everything. It’s challenging to keep to your budget but truly, it’ll only be you who’ll find joy in spending time and effort on the little things you’re passionate about. Most importantly, always keep your groom involved in every decision even if it’s about the flower selection or colour theme. You’ll be surprised how helpful or creative their feedback can be! Finally, consciously remind yourself to let loose and savour every moment of your wedding day. It’s not about being picture perfect or a smooth-running program; it’s about the memories you create with your dear husband, family and friends. Most of the time, the best photos are of candid, spontaneous moments.”
