The groom shared: “Our favourite part of our big day was the solemnisation. It couldn’t have gone any better. Everything was perfect. The flowers, setup and ambience were beautiful in the rosy rays of the morning sun. It was simple yet sophisticated, just as we had imagined it to be. Nadirah was in awe when she walked through the doors. Her baby’s breath backdrop design idea was beautifully brought to life by Sherly of Tie The Knot and Wishing Tree.

Only their family and loved ones were present for the solemnisation, which was small and intimate. Choosing modern, fresh and sophisticated as the concept behind their overall wedding design, the couple wanted an organically shaped backdrop made using baby’s breath. Thanks to their wedding planner, it was simple yet ethereal, and turned out as light and dreamy as they had hoped. The rest of the décor was kept to a minimum, focusing mainly on white flowers and green leaves, with soft white fabric and acrylic chairs as highlights.

As the sun began to set, the planning team transformed the hall for the reception, creating an intimate and elegant space. Candlelit centerpieces stood proudly atop the sophisticated tablescapes for a romantic touch, and perhaps most importantly, the food was delicious!

“We had a great spread of local food prepared by the culinary team at EQ Kuala Lumpur, which was absolutely delectable. It was a selection of both of our favourite Malaysian foods, showcasing both our Chinese and Malay heritage. The food was so scrumptious that everyone, including the both of us, went back for second helpings.”

Tips from the bride: “From the beginning, we both wanted our wedding to be about us as a couple. We both come from modern families, but we wanted to ensure that our wedding kept some traditions alive. If certain traditional aspects make you uncomfortable, feel outdated, or simply aren’t your style, then just don’t include them on your wedding day. Traditions are lovely, but only when they’re meaningful to you. Enjoy the process – be present in the moment and feel the love. You’re getting married!”
