Aaron and Shanon were high school sweethearts that drifted apart after graduation. 10 years on, they found themselves drawn once again to each other when an opportunity to reconnect came about. Their courtship of 2 years lead to lifelong commitment. Unbeknownst to them, their wedding party would have to be postponed for almost 2 years due to the pandemic.

“To be honest, I was quite stressed out on the day as my daughter who was 8 month old at the time was still very attached to me, so there was the duties of being a mom that was interjected throughout the course of the day” Shanon recalls. Her duty as a mother did not cease during her wedding day but despite that she stepped out looking resplendent in a tiered ballgown dress, her hair in a sleek ponytail with dainty gloves to match. The groom wore a dark double-breasted pinstripe custom made suit and Christian Louboutin spiked loafers.

The ceremony took place indoors. The floral installation overhead matched the flower arrangements surrounding the altar in hues of bright yellow, creating a romantic entrance, both for the bride and the couple’s guests. The bride’s nephew served as ring bearer. He wore the cutest double breasted pastel blue suit and lead the charge of little cousins down the aisle, followed lastly by the bride and groom’s daughter in her AMG SUV.

The bride gave Wishing Tree a simple yet gargantuan brief – to recreate an enchanted forest within the modern Grand Hyatt ballroom. Live trees were brought into the indoor space to line the entrance and waist height floral arrangements filled the mossy ground between them. Ornamental candle lit mason glasses hung from branches, adding soft lighting and a certain mystical ambience to the otherwise glamorous room. Details like crystal glasses, bronze votives and vintage deer figurines rounded off the whole aesthetics.

When asked about what was most memorable to her, the bride reflect on what how wonderful things have turned out to be despite the circumstances. “If not for the pandemic, we wouldn’t have been able to share this day as a family of 3”, reminiscing her little family’s procession and cake cutting during the reception.
