“Everyone just had the best time catching up and dancing to some awesome music,” said Vanessa of her simple, rustic themed wedding. “The fact that we still have friends telling us that it was the best wedding they’ve attended makes us smile.
“Choosing the church was simple as we both grew up attending St Vincent’s. As for the dinner, we knew we were going to stay away from the conventional, hotel ballroom type of wedding reception. We just wanted something simple, and have family and friends come together for a party. Marmalade Pantry at the Stables was the perfect venue because of its cosy setting, good food and the greenery around it.
“In keeping with our theme of a clean, simple wedding, we chose black, white and grey as our colours – it was an added bonus that they matched the venue. For wedding favours, we had a family friend bake Sugee Cake (true to my Eurasian roots), and we bought bottle opener keys from Etsy.”
