Danielle: “There were too many memorable moments from the day! I loved getting ready with my friends and family in anticipation of my wedding. For the ceremony, it was seeing Jay at the altar as I walked down the aisle with my parents, and during the reception my favourite part was smashing dishes with all of our guests to get the party started. Besides the big day, on our first night we had welcome drinks at the Tango cocktail bar in Fira overlooking the famous sunset, and ended the day with late night street gyros.

“The day before the wedding, we chartered a catamaran for the day and cruised to different beaches around the island where we swam, cliff jumped into the ocean, danced to our favourite music, and had a BBQ. It was amazing to spend so much quality time with our friends and family in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

“We chose Santorini based on the pictures we’d seen of the island. We had never been before, and it was a place that offered our guests a true ‘destination’ experience – great food, beaches, history, ruins, sunny weather, ATV tours, wine tasting, snorkelling, and so much more. It had something for everyone.

“We chose our venue because it offered a classic Santorini backdrop, but also had the space to accommodate the number of guests we had. The majority of venues in Santorini cater to much smaller weddings. We opted for a décor palette of clean white floral elements, gold accents, and lots of greenery to complement, but not overpower, the amazing views.”

Tips from the bride: “Put together a general idea of what you want from your favourite online resources, and then find a good wedding planner and trust them to handle the details. We didn’t visit the site prior to our wedding, so it was important to have people who would handle everything. Don’t stress out about every single minute detail, and try to enjoy the planning process.”
