A garden on the roof? Bringing the outside indoors? Thanks to these ingenious ways of creating her dream wedding, this bride’s rustic garden celebration was beautifully adorned with green ferns, wildflowers, and floral elements in deep, rich colours. It was a beautiful contrast to the brick wall, glasshouse, and wood and steel elements that were part of the venue. These beautiful shots were captured by AlbertG of MCS Wedding Gallery; thanks for sharing!

Chia Yen: “Walking down the aisle with my dad towards my future husband and seeing him cry made my heart skip a beat. It surprised me because it was the first time I saw this ‘tough’ man in tears! I was certain that this ‘emotional’ man would be the only person that I’d spend my entire life with, and that he would love me and take perfect care of me.

“Having a garden wedding has been my dream since I was young. However, Malaysia’s weather always has us sweating through our gorgeous gowns and suits. Searching for a suitable venue was not an easy task, until MUO Boutique Hotel officially launched early in the year. The moment we saw the venue, we fell in love with it!

“We’re very grateful that the management allowed us to use their beautiful glasshouse at the rooftop for the solemnisation, and also the air-conditioned lobby (for refreshments), making sure my makeup and hairdo were well-preserved throughout the ceremony. The biggest fear when having an outdoor event is a gloomy, rainy day. It had been raining for a week before the ceremony. We prayed really hard for good weather. And yeah, we were lucky: it turned out to be a sunny day! Nonetheless, always have a plan B in case your prayer isn’t answered!

“We chose a wooden rustic theme with fresh details and natural textures to fulfil my garden wedding dream. We decided to keep the decorations simple yet classy, mostly in the colours of green and burgundy. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy but our wedding planner byFlamingo Event magically transformed all my ideas into reality! It was indeed an amazing moment when we stepped into the hotel, knowing it was exactly what we had imagined. We’re also thankful that we have a bunch of talented friends who gave us ideas and handmade the beautiful ring pillow and vow booklets when we were scratching our heads over these two important details.”

Tips from the bride: “It’s normal for you to become a ‘bridezilla’ when your big day is approaching. Always bear in mind that you are not alone. You’ll always have family members and friends willing to lend a helping hand and give you their truest blessings. So don’t be reluctant to distribute the duties of the day to them. As a bride, your only duty is to indulge yourself in the romantic ambience, look into your husband’s eyes, and be assured that you are the happiest woman in the world. Some hiccups might happen, but don’t stress over imperfections. Sometimes imperfections are beautiful!”
