Weddings don’t always have to be formal affairs, you can get all dolled up for a low-key celebration too. Here, we love the combination of a dusty blue colour palette and wooden textures, surrounded by lush greenery and elegant blooms. The bridal couple also added personal touches in the form of a sports jersey guestbook and a delectable gelato stand featuring Malaysian flavours. Many thanks to Zach Chin of MunKeat Studios for this delightful set of wedding photos!

Jocelyn: “Our highlights of the day were multiple tear-jerking speeches, as well as a surprise video from my dad. He had spent several months practising and recording a song!

“We have always wanted a small wedding with just our closest friends and family, where everyone would feel comfortable and enjoy the day as much as we did. Tamarind Springs provided us with a touch of nature, and the shared banquet menu made it feel a little more like a family gathering. We decided on a lunch reception as it made the occasion a little more lighthearted. The sports jersey guestbooks were because Sim loves sports and we are the biggest fans of our guests, so we wanted to make sure we got their autographs on the day! We also had a photobooth because who doesn’t love a good photo after getting all dolled up?

“We wanted soft colours that blended in well with the greenery, and dusty blue just stood out when it came time to choose. Our wedding favours were Mabs’ cookies that were so good we had to share them with everyone, plus the containers can be reused! Sim and I loved the practicality of it all.”

Tips from the bride: “Have a theme and stick to it! Indecisiveness is going to make wedding planning very stressful for both the bride and groom, as well as the vendors. At the end of the day, there is going to be lots of doubt and things might not go as planned, but it is meant to be a celebration so enjoy every moment of it. Do not stress over an imperfect flower as that is the beauty of life – it isn’t perfect, but we celebrate the imperfections! If you are planning a destination wedding, having a good wedding planner makes a big difference. Finally, remember that Pinterest is your best friend.”
