With the pandemic that is upon us, it’s time to get creative. Life has to go on, and we love how this couple celebrated their union with a surprise getaway for their “after party”. Accompanied by their 20 guests, the trip followed their wedding ceremony at the conservatory-style restaurant Botanica + Co, and was actually a surprise from the groom to his new bride. How romantic! Many thanks to MunKeat Photography for capturing the joy of this beautiful celebration.

Rowena of The Peak Xperience: “Jordan had pulled out all the stops to arrange a surprise retreat at The Shorea especially for Seh Xi, with a handful of their dearest friends and family in attendance. With the gloom surrounding the pandemic, this was such a lovely gesture to brighten everyone’s spirits.

“The lunch reception at Botanica + Co had a modern touch to it, with clean lines and minimal design. We took full advantage of the conservatory-style restaurant with its calming greenery and natural light, and personalised grey menus to match. For the wedding retreat, we used soft hues and plenty of florals for a more romantic take, and incorporated that into the beautiful rainforest backdrop outdoors.”

Tips from the bride: “Wedding planning can be a crazy rollercoaster ride, largely due to the pandemic – last minute changes in plans, cutting down the guestlist, border restrictions, constant changes to SOPs, etc. can all throw a spanner in the works and cause unnecessary stress. When you feel overwhelmed, take a step back, look at the bigger picture, and go with the flow. Years from now, you may not remember all the tiny details, but you will remember how happy everyone was. So don’t sweat the small stuff and make sure to enjoy every minute of your special day.”
