The question we’ve all asked lately is, how will weddings look like now with Covid-19? We’ve had ZOOM weddings, weddings at home, weddings with just 10 people…

For Rebecca and Wy Keat, they had all the usual excitement of the day, but with just 50 people and a Zoom call for everyone who could not be there. Paring things down meant highlighting the things that mattered. The bride also ensured that everything could be reusable, and that both her and the groom had time with their loved ones on their special day. We love the pops of joyful orange and the warmth of the venue – what a truly perfect intimate celebration. Many thanks to Holymoly for coordinating this beautiful wedding along with Lavender Love Florist and Juanmoley of The Beautiful Moment Photography for this gorgeous set of photos!

Rebecca: “Our solemnisation was an intimate gathering of 50 people. We were overjoyed to see the happy faces on all our guests throughout the event. The day was memorable and stress-free since we had an awesome entourage that we could count on and we just went with the flow. We made the best of every opportunity and we got to spend some heart-to-heart moments with our family. We also made sure to include Wy Keat’s family and our friends who were only able to attend our special day via Zoom. These moments were so beautifully captured by our photographer and videographers, which meant the world to us.

“We wanted a relaxed and casual setting for the solemnisation. Tamarind Hill had a cosy atmosphere that I liked, whereas Wy Keat enjoyed the serenity and colonial vibes. I wanted the décor to blend into the natural surroundings, with a touch of autumn colours. I don’t like the idea of flowers and wastage, so I insisted on reusable decorations. The floral stands from the ceremony doubled as a photobooth backdrop, and the pew posies became the table flowers for our lunch reception. We were very pleased that our guests took all the flowers! All the items for the reception table were bought for us to reuse in our own home, and the same went for the guests’ place cards, which were handwritten by a friend.

“Since our solemnisation was held during Covid-19, we had to ensure that we minimised contact among our guests. With the help of Kavfe (our coffee cart vendor) and Holymoly (our wedding coordinator), we came up with a QR code ordering system to ensure social distancing and minimise queueing. It turned out to be pretty seamless and effortless! In addition to the necessary social distancing measures enforced by the government, we also pre-notified our guests on their seating arrangements the night before our wedding to avoid overcrowding at the reception.”

Tips from the bride: “We believed that whatever would happen, would happen. Know that no matter how perfect your planning may be, you might still run behind schedule or last-minute issues could arise. It’s more important to trust your entourage and let go – immerse yourself in the day, as the happy memories will last for a lifetime. Also, do take time to connect with your guests individually.”
