We’re loving this wedding colour palette of mint green and peach with hints of blush pink and gold, all brought together beautifully with twine, wooden décor elements and simple vintage pieces. It’s hard to believe that most of the décor was DIY, and it’s clear that the bride and groom’s families make the perfect team! We especially love the added touch of the vintage gold Fiat 500 as the bride and groom’s wedding car. Many thanks to Arch & Vow Studio for capturing all the lovely moments of this special day.

Edna: “Seeing all our loved ones come together to celebrate the beginning of our journey as a married couple was truly unforgettable. There were so many memorable moments, from the nervous excitement early in the morning before the gatecrashing ceremony, the way strangers smiled and waved at us in our wedding car on the way to church, the joyful faces of our guests as we walked down the aisle, the emotional moment when we said our vows, and the surprise song performances from family and friends. The whole wedding was like a big family project for us, bringing families and friends together. It was a labour of love and we were really blessed.

“I had the colour palette of mint green, blush, peach and gold in mind; our whole theme revolved around that. We both also wanted a natural, rustic and vintage feel, thus the Sekeping Seapark Brickhouse and Zion Lutheran Church, Brickfields, were the perfect venues. Almost everything was DIY because we wanted the freedom to personalise our day while saving costs. This included the wedding invitations, wedding programmes, guest favours, reception table décor pieces, flower arrangements, bridesmaids’ bouquets and boutonnieres. It was fun doing DIY together, but we also had amazing people to help us out. My husband borrowed the vintage gold Fiat 500 from his great uncle for our wedding car. We spent half a day decorating it ourselves, and everyone loved it!”

Tips from the bride: “Going DIY means a lot of researching, planning and effort. There will be things that don’t go according to plan, so be prepared to be flexible. Learn to make do with what you have and do what you can, even if it’s not exactly what you first expected. As a DIY bride, it’s tempting to take everything into your own hands (because you want to make sure everything’s perfect) but don’t! Delegate and trust those who are willing to lend a hand. There are plenty of resources online and Pinterest is great for inspiration. Enjoy the whole process and believe that all the effort will be worth it in the end when you see everything come together beautifully. Most importantly, enjoy your wedding day because it will pass by way too fast. A useful reminder from my husband, especially when I was overwhelmed, is to focus on what really matters – after all, a wedding lasts for a day but it’s the marriage that lasts for a lifetime.”
