Taking a chance on the weather with an outdoor wedding in Victoria during spring might seem like a real gamble, but when you’re getting married to the love of your life, all those good vibes will surely make it an amazing day nonetheless, right? It certainly paid off for these newlyweds as they exchanged beautiful vows in the company of their loved ones. The tall trees and overcast sky gave the proceedings a dramatic and moody feel, which complemented the Christmas-inspired wedding theme. Many thanks to Rick Liston Photography for this gorgeous set of photos!

Leann: “It was really special to have our closest family and friends take a break and fly in from Malaysia and other parts of the world just to celebrate our wedding. Also, to enjoy Melbourne – a place that is special to the both of us, a place where we believe good things happen! The weather was perfect. We were so blessed to have an hour free from rain and cold during the outdoor ceremony, even though we knew it was a crazy decision to pick a place like Victoria, which is known for its erratic weather especially during springtime.

“An intimate destination wedding was always top of our list. A great escape, a different climate, a mega holiday with family and friends! Our floral elements and overall colour choices were mainly neutral shades with a touch of a moody palette. We used burgundy flowers, grey candles, brass candlesticks – things that remind you of Christmas, as that is our favourite season!”

Tips from the bride: “While it’s important to make sure your guests are taken care of, remember that it’s your wedding day. You and your partner need to let go and enjoy the moment! When the day is over, you’ll want to remember the real moments: the ugly crying, tripping over your dress, and hugging one too many people you love!”
