It is quite magical seeing families come together, and in this lovely couple’s case, it was incredibly special as they completed their church ceremony, as well as their Javanese and Chinese rituals, within the same day. The best part of once-in-a-lifetime moments like these is having them immortalised as memories and captures that last forever. Thank you for these amazing shots, Iluminen!

The bride shared: “The morning of the church ceremony was hectic. I woke up at 2am for Javanese makeup, attire and ritual. Then there was the gatecrashing ceremony, and then we rushed to Kelapa Gading to do the Chinese ceremony – in our Javanese wedding attire! Surprisingly, we were able to stop for a quick bite of homemade noodles before making a beeline for the church. It was a big morning, full of love.”

Looking at the photos, we couldn’t help but notice how the couple did away with a wedding theme, and simply kept things neutral and monochromatic. Once again, the proven trifecta of black, white and grey has resulted in exquisite elegance, style and grace.

Tips from the bride: “There is no right or wrong when it comes to style and taste. One of the most important things for a successful wedding is picking vendors that you can trust. Remember the key people in those companies as you speak with them, as they will be the ones responsible for delivering the service on your big day. You have to be able to trust that they will deliver to your standards and expectations. Your budget is important, of course, but having that trust in your vendors is key to your peace of mind. On your wedding day, try to sit back, enjoy, and take in the memories. Let everyone else take care of things for you. You are the queen for the day.”
