It might have been windy but who could complain about getting married at the beautiful signature Cliff-Edge Sunset Cabana at Alila Villas Uluwatu? Grace and Francis really are a sweet couple, and we could feel their quiet, genuine love through each of these photos.

Besides the Cartier Love Bracelet, a token of his love to her, they also exchanged cards that they’d written to each other. Today, more than a celebration of pretty weddings, we’re celebrating true love.

Grace: “Our wedding wasn’t perfect. It was windy, guests were stuck in traffic and jetlagged, I probably had a few bobby pins loose, some lanterns went out, and we couldn’t find our ‘first dance’ song so the band just improvised while we moved from side to side. But it was the loveliest day ever.

“For the ceremony, we had a string trio play classical music, and for the reception, we had an acoustic band. The live music made it feel even more personal, and accentuated the intimacy of our celebration.

“In terms of the decorations, Alila Villas Uluwatu is so beautiful there wasn’t any additional work required. We kept it simple and added personal touches by creating a soundtrack for the guests and giving them handmade favours – earrings for the ladies and cufflinks for the gents.

“I wish I could pinpoint a beautiful moment and describe it poetically, but the truth is the day flew by and all I remember is feeling really happy and laughing a lot.

“One thing I do remember clearly is, after all the guests had left, we returned to our room and there was a plateful of our wedding cake, staring at us. We just sat on the bed and ate it all.”

Tips from the bride: “Hire good photographers and videographers. You won’t remember a thing from your wedding but their work will help you relive your day.”
