It’s indeed our honour to be able to share Hannah and Bryan’s wedding ceremony photos here. Their church ceremony was a movie premiere-themed event in the church auditorium, with a big LED screen, a stage and tiered seating. We love the creative burst of yellow and black details, which made this wedding truly an extension of this very happy couple. And even though everything looked so fun, the exchanging of vows was actually very emotional. Thanks, Cornelius, for these beautiful photos. Hannah: “The best part was having the entire family together and being able to spend some quality time with everyone since most of them live outside of KL. The actual wedding was a bonus.

“My god-brother Joey and his wife Regine helped us with all the design work, including the invites, which were designed as a three-piece bookmark according to the theme of an independent film poster. We managed to DIY quite a number of things, like the invites, kids’ activity kits, food toppers, Ang Pao collection boxes, the confetti bar, etc. with the help of our family. Quite a tedious yet fun process!

Tips from the bride: “If you’re thinking of wearing a poufy dress like mine, be prepared to hold your bladder for the entire duration of your ceremony/event!

“On a more serious note, while good wedding planners make pretty valuable lifesavers, not everyone can afford to leave it entirely to the professionals, and unless you’re opting for an unconventional celebration, you should be able to survive on a detailed checklist and budget plan. I’m happy to share my checklist and budget template; just pop me an email and I’ll reply with the files.

“Marriage is a gift from God. However, it’s usually during the wedding planning stage that both bride and groom get to know one another better through a series of disagreements, differences in opinion, etc. Remember to stay united as a couple and do what makes you happy. Ultimately, it’s your wedding, not your friends’ or in-laws’. Value and respect their opinions but don’t let them be the cause of your unhappiness because it may become poisonous resentment in the future. I know it’s tough but try to count your blessings and enjoy the process while it lasts. It’ll be over before you know it!”
