Honestly, traditional weddings won’t be boring if you have an extremely fun photographer. We love the vibrant colours here, and even though we had never seen a void deck Malay wedding in Singapore before and so had nothing to compare this to, it really just blew our mind.
Juliana of Jfaith: “Who says a wedding on a void deck cannot be pretty and hipster? Dhirah and Boes gave a rousing answer to that question by having their décor vendor transform the void deck to an English-inspired garden setting. And boy, it was beautiful!
“Of the two, Dhirah was the more outspoken one and she animatedly told me how she had decided to not leave relationships to chance and asked for Boes’ number instead. Boes was just smiling, but it was clear to me that they weren’t just a great match, but were very in love as well.
“Their celebration was a two-day affair, and we managed to squeeze in a portrait session at Haji Lane after the solemnisation. At the end of the two days, we were all very tired, but very happy.
“Haji Lane and Kampong Glam were the places where they first met. I’ve always been inclined to skip the pretty, typical locations and go somewhere that actually carries special meaning for the couple, and this is theirs.”
