If you read the 2014 wedding trends story in our latest issue, you’d know that pink is making a comeback, while black, previously a taboo colour for weddings, is also on the rise. This wedding is a perfect example of the two colours combined. Maybe it’s coincidence but we love how the black and white stripes on the ribbon go so well with the cathedral. Draw inspiration from your venue and your décor will fall effortlessly into place. Kudos to the absolutely great team behind this wedding – wedding planner Patricia with The Photoz and Wishing Tree. Deborah: “We chose the simple and classic palette of black and white as our theme then incorporated shades of powder pink and light green into everything. We found black and white to be a delight to work with. We used black and white stripes and polka dot ribbons in our bouquets and corsages, which made a wonderful statement against the beautiful church architecture. It was so easy to keep things classy and also very ceremonious! The venue for our ceremony was an obvious choice: the beautiful St Mary’s Cathedral – where my parents were married and where we share so many memories.”
