Sometimes the best wedding ideas appear when you’re not looking, and that’s what happened with this bride, as she fell in love with what she thought was an unconventional wedding colour. The result was a sleek and elegant modern wedding: from the floral adornments of the lush hedge wall framing the couple’s exchange of vows, to the gold glitter tablecloth that added a touch of glamour. Thanks to Joshua of Inlight Photos for capturing this stunning set of photos!

Mellissa: “Our wedding theme honestly started off with me finding the perfect bridesmaid dress in a colour that was not so common for weddings (dusky blue). I didn’t want all the bridesmaids in the same dress, so I found another cream dress I liked, and the colours just fell into place. For the venue, we wanted somewhere light and airy with lots of natural light. We knew we didn’t want anywhere that was too hipster, rustic or artsy, but something more modern and classic.”

Tips from the bride: “Enjoy the day because it only comes once in a lifetime! Even though Pinterest may inspire you to DIY everything, unless you have time (and very supportive bridesmaids), don’t. Hire a wedding planner if you can afford one so that you, your friends and family can fully enjoy the day without stressing about last minute hiccups (which there definitely will be).”
