Opting for plants and leaves in lieu of flowers for décor made for a lush and down-to-Earth yet elegant wedding. We love it when a couple weaves their own style into their wedding. This one had different hues of green – from the bride’s beautiful lace cheongsam and her bridesmaids’ light sea green dresses to the overhanging leafy décor, mossy plants and tea lights, this wedding was truly resplendent. Many thanks to MunKeat Photography for the photos!

Amy: “Awesome vows, great speeches, emotional videos/photo montage, the all out after party, and the list goes on and on. We could not pinpoint the most memorable moments, but we really loved how everyone bonded throughout the wedding day. All our family and friends, some from abroad, really got close to one another and we’re really glad our big day was able to break down barriers between people.

“When people say a wedding is all about the bride and groom, nothing beats seeing the pure joy and laughter from your loved ones. We were really nervous prior to the big day (due to our intense preparations to provide the best experience for various groups of people) but seeing all the guests give their support as one really carried us through. And now we know marriage is about sharing. We all shared love big time!

“I’m actually not a fan of flowers, and instead wanted more leaves/plants for the décor. Plus Winston’s and my favourite colour is green. So our colour theme was a combination of greens, whites and woodsy tones. Our décor theme was bohemian, as we love all things natural and rustic. Being architects, we have a liking for angular and structured lines. And we like things simple and minimalist – nothing curvy, flamboyant or ornamental.”

Tips from the bride: “Focus on what you personally love, and work towards that for your wedding day. It’s very easy to get carried away with the abundant ideas out there from family, friends, websites, etc. But you need to filter them and only take in that which is truly ‘you’ (i.e. yourself and your spouse). Do that and all will be perfect.”
