This is the garden where it all begins. May Ling and Jin kept everything simple and sweet, but within that simplicity lay the love they have for their nearest and dearest, because most of the items here were DIY. It’s a sign of their love for their guests, but also an expression of the effort they will put into their marriage together. Have you noticed that this photographer, Funky Dali, is often hired to conceptualise not just the photos, but the wedding as well?
Funky Dali: “During our first meeting, the couple told us, ‘We would like you guys to be the planners for our wedding in Penang!’ Brimming with excitement, we quickly set up a second meeting to brainstorm and get things started. Both of them being game designers in Singapore, a rustic/8-bit games-themed wedding was something relevant to them.
“Most of the décor was handmade, such as the ring pillow, thank-you gifts, signs, etc. Even the moustache on the bridal car was hand sewn! We were secretly hoping to keep the moustache but the bride’s mum loved it so much, she wanted to hang it in her home. The couple even flew in DJ Smiles from the famed TheFlashDance in the US to entertain their guests!”
