Forget the fancy gowns and suits, this couple decided to depict what they think their marriage will look like 50 years from now, as their photographer captured their quirks during a day out near Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur. Here’s the setting – retired and grey, the couple have lived purposefully and responsibly, are healthy and have each other. She’s got her hair pulled back in a neat ponytail, and is wearing a conservative blouse and comfortable pants. Her feet are sensibly planted in flats, her days of fancy heels clearly behind her. He, meanwhile, is compatibly attired, complete with a walking stick.
Together, they enjoy a sunny morning in Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Chinatown, shopping in the farmers’ market, sharing the Malaysian breakfast staple of ‘kopi-O’, toast and eggs, and browsing the many stalls set up on the sidewalk. Appreciating the simple joys of air in their lungs and legs that are strong enough to take them for a stroll, the couple also visit a beautiful chapel, where they bow their heads in a moment of quiet to acknowledge their Creator. It’s a beautiful picture of grace and thanksgiving.
