On the lookout for a rustic-esque-industrial ambience, Whup Whup came perfectly in line with their expectations. “Since we are both in the aviation industry as pilot and flight attendant, we decided to include that as a theme in our wedding. And since it was the week of Christmas, we spiced things up with some Christmas touch to it,” the bride shares.
“I’m really thankful to my groom for his every effort in our wedding. He did almost everything! He built the wedding arch, the backdrop, collected the trolley carts from airport, folded the paper planes, liased with all the vendors etc. As I’m based in Dubai, it was really hard for me to travel back home for the wedding preparations. We are truly blessed to have our family and friends to help us with all the DIY the night before the big day!”
“She took my breath away,” said he, and “I will never forget the expression on his face as he teared while I was walking down the aisle,” said she.
Truly moments to be savoured for a lifetime, this beautiful wedding at Whup Whup, expertly planned and recorded by an ensemble of professionals, will be reminisced over and over again as man and wife embrace their union.
In a play of navy and maroon as their theme colours, they conceptualized the event to include shades of wood and red roses. “We thought the dark purple bridesmaid dresses from Taobao to be a huge mistake but it turned out great!” the bride recalls in relief.
Tips from the bride: “If you can afford hiring a planner or coordinator, it would be less tiring and stressful on you.
Always stick to your budget and do something for your wedding which would mean something to you and leave lasting memories. Do not be too bothered about what other people would say or comment and instead, thrive on something that you’re comfortable with. Do not compare with other people’s wedding because everything you do is unique. Make full use of friends who are married (they are very helpful; you’ll see!). Lastly and most importantly, enjoy the planning! Pinterest and wedding planners’ social media accounts would be a great help for you to get ideas. All the best and happy planning!”
