More than just a romantic, beautiful island, Santorini holds a deeper meaning for this couple from Hong Kong. Instead of remembering it as the place where they had their first fight, Isaac decided to make things right once and for all by pledging his eternal commitment to Iris here. Thanks, Chris Spira, for the beautiful pictures.

Iris: “Oia, Santorini is a special place for us, as we had our first argument there. It was the summer of 2010, and I was on my graduation trip with Isaac. We argued over finding the right spot to watch the beautiful sunset in Oia, and ended up ‘enjoying’ the sunset separately. It was a pity, and we regretted not treasuring that precious moment. From that point on, we promised that we wouldn’t leave each other again.”

Isaac: “We were attending a friend’s wedding in Santorini, and took the opportunity to do a photoshoot. I took her back to the place where we had our first quarrel and proposed to her.”

Iris: “It was a secret proposal, Chris our photographer knew about the plan beforehand! She was just so professional. She had a severe headache on the day, but still tried her best to bring us to different spots to get beautiful backdrops for our shoot. The quietness and beauty of the sunset at the end was just priceless. We could see her passion for her work.

“My high school classmate Suu Ho designed and made the gown for me. She likes designing unique gowns. Santorini has many shoot locations, like the traditional little white houses, beaches and the outdoors, so she suggested I have two layers to easily match the scenery.”

Tips from the bride: “I’m so glad I found Renia Bledaki, the only specialist in Asian makeup in Santorini! We also visited The Wedding Notebook, especially the ‘love stories’ section, not just to get more ideas, but to see the different shooting styles of photographers as well.”
