Tina: “One of the most memorable moments was doing the tea ceremony. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did, and originally only did it for tradition. I’m glad I did it in the end because I got to wear the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai dress and celebrate my culture. Doing the tea ceremony really showed us how much our families loved us and how happy they were for us. It was a very emotional part of the day.

“Another favourite moment of the day was my civil ceremony at The Royal Botanical Gardens. To say our vows in front of our families and closest friends was so special. It is a moment I will never forget and I will cherish it forever.

“I thought about having a wedding theme but couldn’t decide, so I ended up going with a colour theme instead. It took me a long time to decide on a colour as there were so many to choose from. In the end, I decided on mint since I am totally obsessed with the shade.

“I wanted a summer feel for my January wedding, and after many weekends of visiting venues I stumbled upon the Sandringham Yacht Club with its breathtaking ocean view. When I saw the venue, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. The staff there are exceptional – they really go out of their way to meet your needs, and the food is amazing too. The bridal table is by the window so when guests look at you they see the ocean backdrop, which looks amazing. I can’t tell you the amount of compliments I got on the venue.

“Our party favours were a deconstructed red velvet cupcake in a jar with a wooden spoon glued onto the side. I saw this on etsy, and our guests absolutely loved it. Not only did they look great, but they also tasted amazing thanks to Yum-Mammas, and it was something different.

“We had a Polaroid canvas where guests could take a Polaroid of themselves upon arrival at the reception, and then replace their wedding escort cards on the canvas with the Polaroids. Now we have a Polaroid canvas of all our guests, which is a good keepsake.

Tips from the bride: “I used online websites to find most of my suppliers. I also used Pinterest for some inspiration. There are plenty of party favour, wedding bouquet and wedding cake ideas. I also bought a few things off etsy, which were great. There are lots of cute things you can buy to add that extra touch to your wedding day!”
