The best thing about having a DIY wedding is that no matter what, it becomes very closely personalised to your own style and story. This couple was no exception, from involving their friends and family in the process to rummaging through their parents’ old knick-knacks. (They found some real gems!) We loved the relaxed vibe and casual décor, complete with the loving smiles of the newlyweds and their guests. Thanks to Memoir Click Studio for this pretty set of photos.

CJ: “All our dearest friends from Germany, Japan and Taiwan came to our wedding and totally embraced the 60s theme. The wedding was so fun! Our concept was a rock-n’-roll mix of the 60s. That era was a time of outstanding fashion, and Jens and I felt that it matched our dream wedding ideals.

“We wanted to have a fun and cosy wedding. I used a lot of old stuff that I found from digging around in my parents’ old storeroom – such as the typewriter, makeup box and their wedding photos! It was also meaningful to bring my parents back to that time and have them reminisce their own wedding.”

Tips from the bride: “Have a bunch of good friends take part in the preparations with you and be excited with you for your big day. The long wedding prep (about nine months) became a very sweet memory for all of us – it made us all closer.”
