It’s such a delight to see City Harvest Church being transformed into a different theme each time it is used as a wedding venue. It’s truly a blank canvas that invites creativity, with its great natural light that also offers the comfort of air conditioning.
With the help of a decorator, this DIY bride went for a rustic theme, with touches of wood, glass and lace, all held together by her favourite mint colour. There was a simple wishing tree with craft tags for wishes, gorgeous twine-wrapped bottles with bunches of green and white flowers, pretty paper pinwheels and more.
What we love most is how, instead of splurging on candy bars, the couple served the guests ice kacang and other local snacks such as nangka chips and kacang putih. Thanks, ChongYee, for capturing all these beautiful details.
Rachel: “I’ll never forget the excitement we shared in the car on the way to the church ceremony, the look on his face when I reached him after walking down the aisle, and our wedding vows to each other.”
Tips from the bride: “DIY-ing things for your wedding can get overwhelming especially when it’s nearer to the wedding date, but grit your teeth and push on, and it will all be worth it in the end.”
