Nature is an undeniably beautiful backdrop, and Stones of the Yarra Valley is a slice of Tuscany in the land down under. With exposed brick walls, rolling hills and (at the right time) a romantic sunset, it’s the perfect space for a rustic yet glamorous wedding. The abundance of gorgeous flowers and seasonal blooms also definitely added to the romantic feel. Many thanks to Warren Photography for capturing these breathtaking shots.

Min Hui: “It was a dream come true to marry my lover, soul mate and best friend at the stunning space of Stones of Yarra Valley – in the presence of our closest and dearest. It was beyond magical and everything we dreamt of became reality. We were blessed with a beautiful 28-degree day (which is almost unheard of in Melbourne) with enough light for photographs and warmth for everyone to have a good time.

“It was incredibly emotional when dad gave me away at the altar – and it started in the ride to the Yarra Valley in a vintage Rolls Royce, with dad holding my hand throughout the hour-long journey. It was also so heartwarming to hear the speeches by our families, maid of honour and best man.

“We chose to have a small and intimate wedding with our closest and dearest. We wanted a rustic glam, romantic spring wedding, and chose Stones of the Yarra Valley as it was inspired by Tuscany, but also mostly because we wanted the option of having the reception and take photos outdoors. We had loads of beautiful flowers including David Austens, garden-styled roses, tulips, dogwood, hydrangeas and other seasonal blooms.”

Tips from the bride: “Research, research, research – we poured through wedding blogs, social media, Pinterest and Instagram. Plan ahead and set realistic timelines, be disciplined when it comes to checking out venues on a regular basis, have some persistence when it comes to not getting what you initially want; there are always alternatives. Communication and chemistry are really important when it comes to your vendors so don’t compromise on vendors who cannot articulate your needs. Stick as close to the budget as possible but don’t compromise on quality; you don’t want to end up stressing and fussing over details on the day itself. If there’s a vendor you know you like, be decisive especially if they’re popular, as they get booked out quicker than you think!”
