Keeping things romantic and intimate yet glamorous, this bride and groom definitely infused their wedding with their personality, from the bride opting to wear a glitzy gold gown in lieu of a traditional white wedding dress to her bridesmaids wearing all-black gowns. Complementing the bride was the groom in his dark floral blazer, the groomsmen’s white shirts and leaf boutonnières, and the floral bouquets of tropical leafy greens and pineapples as aisle décor. We especially love the lush green wedding arch where the couple exchanged their vows in front of their close family and friends, overlooking the romantic beaches of Uluwatu. Skye: “We’d always talked about a destination wedding as we love to travel, and Bali is a very special place for Nick and I because we’ve holidayed there regularly over the years. We wanted to have a small and intimate wedding with our closest family and friends, so getting married in Bali made sense. We were a bit worried about picking a venue without being able to see it first, but The Istana completely exceeded our expectations – it was 100% perfect!
“Our wedding theme was Tropical Glamour, inspired by the banana palm Martinique wallpaper from the Beverly Hills Hotel. The aisle was decorated with pineapples, leaves and ferns, making it the most incredible archway. My Mum and I DIY-ed the napkins, confetti, place cards and table numbers. We had beer coolers as our favours, which Nick designed to look like a wedding invitation.”
Tips from the bride: “The best advice I could give a bride-to-be is to try to enjoy the process, as it will all be over before you know it. Make sure you do what is right for you and your fiancé, because at the end of the day, all that matters is that you end up married to each other and all of the small details simply don’t matter! Oh, and also, hire a wedding planner!”
