Oh, the gorgeous shades and detailing in this wedding! We were moved by the amount of effort this beautiful couple put into transforming the banquet hall at Empire Hotel Subang with the help of Marble & Co. into this dream-like space. Thank you for these superb images, Jason Koong of MJK Photography!

The bride shared: “What meant a lot was seeing all the familiar faces and happy tears, listening to the heartfelt speeches, watching the bridal party dance, and taking in the décor. Having everything come together after months of planning, and being in the moment to experience getting married was pure bliss!”

The bride chose the venue for its proximity to home and affordability compared to many hotels in Kuala Lumpur. She loved the interior of the banquet hall and the champagne gold arches. For a minimalistic and chic ambience, the couple went with gold and white as their theme colours.

Their personal preferences went into all of the wedding details, including the vanilla and espresso meringue kisses that they gave out as door gifts. The couple’s favourite flavours respectively, the sweet treats were packed in clear bottles with gold lids and personalised stickers.

Tips from the bride: “If you’re planning your own wedding, which I highly recommend, it’s important to know what you don’t want, and what you want. Pinterest has lots of ideas, sometimes too many, and you’ll be drowning in all the ideas if you don’t know what you want. It’s your wedding, you get one shot in making it truly yours. Planning your own wedding might seem impossible, but if you put your heart into it, there’s so much satisfaction at the end.

“Of course start planning early, don’t procrastinate, and seek advice from friends who have gotten married recently. Relax, and (try to) take things easy. Try not to be a perfectionist and expect everything to go according to plan. If they do, it’s a bonus. If they don’t, don’t stress over it. Enjoy the moment, and don’t worry about whether or not the photographer got the perfect shot. Sometimes the perfect shots are those that capture true emotions, and when you look back, it almost seems like you’re reliving that moment. That’s the most beautiful thing!”
