This concept was suggested by the couple themselves, who simply adore the look and feel of 1960s Shanghai. Ariel has a special fondness for the traditional Cheongsam, which is usually associated with a very feminine hourglass silhouette that can stop a man in his tracks, and had specially tailored four delicate pieces for her wedding.

AndroidsinBoots: “Films like ‘In The Mood For Love’, ‘2046’ and ‘Ruan Ling Yu’ were set in the 60s. These creations were a huge influence during the early days of our career. It has been a while since we were given the opportunity to do something so interesting. We couldn’t wait to embark on a nostalgic journey of re-visiting the beauty of such films.

“We dug out our long-hidden film collection and scoured through the dusty pile for inspiration. We immersed ourselves into the audio experience and arresting visuals. It was a long and tedious preparation process, from choosing the perfect venue to finalising the suitable costumes before the photoshoot. But it was all worth the effort and we really like how it eventually turned out.”
