Much like the changing seasons, a relationship weathers the various shifts and changes that life brings. For this couple, their bridal portraits were not just a celebration of their love, but also a celebration of the start of their new life in Australia. Photographed against the breathtaking backdrop of Melbourne’s autumn colours, they had eyes only for each other, and the vibrant hues of red, orange and brown with pops of green certainly brought warmth to the portraits.

Kenny Ng of Bitesize Visuals: “Len Jin and Melissa were in a long distance relationship before tying the knot last year. They moved to Australia a few months later and these photos also marked the first anniversary of their move to Australia as newlyweds. Migrating to a new country and starting from scratch isn’t all sunshine and rainbows as there are difficult, challenging and lonely days, but this couple’s relationship has only grown stronger since they embarked on this adventure together. Their love story has been truly inspiring and encouraging. It’s living proof that even in new lands, with drastic changes and unavoidable challenges in life, love is always stronger, and together, the journey will always be worthwhile.”

For their portraits, Len Jin and Melissa chose the quiet towns of Macedon and Daylesford for a change from the busy Melbourne CBD. It was a refreshing timeout with nature, filled with leisurely walks in gardens and parks. The change of pace from the usual hustle and bustle of city life also meant the couple was able to have some quiet time together and enjoy each other’s company. As the saying goes, it’s the simple things in life that really matter.

Tips from the bride: “Keeping things simple isn’t always a negative thing. Most importantly, have fun, enjoy the moment with your loved one, and appreciate the beauty of nature.”
