It can’t get any more intimate and cosy than tying the knot right in your own backyard – which is what Tze Yip and Kai Hsin of Craft Kitchen did. Despite keeping things simple and DIY, this wedding looked classic and well put together, from the altar decorated with leafy greens and flowers to the blue and white streamers and tea lights, adding that little touch of magic. Thanks to Inlight Photos for this wonderful set of snapshots.

Tze Yip: “We’ve always wanted to have our wedding be simple and really intimate and personal. We thought it would be fitting to host it at home, and so we started looking at simple decorations that we could add to the home’s features to give it a soft look. We went with simple DIY ideas that would add to our open spaces. We went with ribbons, candles, fairy lights and flowers that would turn our backyard into something magical.

“It was special that we got to share our most important moments with our closest friends and family. I remember while I was waiting for the bride to arrive, looking into the crowd and thinking how much effort everyone had put in to create such a beautiful wedding. I realised in that moment that it wasn’t just my wedding, it was a special occasion for everyone close to us.”

Tips from the bride: “Always plan ahead. It’s not about how beautiful you decorate your wedding or how much you spend, it’s about the special people who are there with you on that day.”
